shrader Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 By definition, PMB was in less demand than Corey Tropp or Matt D'Agostino. Weird. $2 million cap hit vs. $577k for Tropp and $550k for D'Agostini. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 $2 million cap hit vs. $577k for Tropp and $550k for D'Agostini. very good point. he may catch on somewhere, but not at the cap hit for which he signed before the season started. Quote
LGR4GM Posted December 10, 2013 Author Report Posted December 10, 2013 Speaking of the cap it is now estimated that the cap will be 72mil next year. This is coming from the Owners meeting yesterday. This is no surprise and about where people thought it would be. @DarrenDreger: 2014-2015 NHL salary cap projection delivered at B of G meeting. $71+ million next season."/ Spend, spend, spend! Quote

Probably. Idk, I think the sabres should steer clear of the top UFA's this offseason. I don't think we can get them and I am not sure they are the caliber of player who would actually help this team. WildCard Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Looks like this years a goldmine for UFA's. Thortnon, Marleu, Miller, Vanek, Statsny, Phaneuf, Gaborik, the list goes on and on. I'd love to scoop Statsny, veteran center we could throw some cash at after losing Leino and maybe trading Stafford http://www.capgeek.com/free-agents Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Hard to believe that Marleau doesn't get resigned. Quote

Heatley is only 32? It feels like he has been around for about 20 years by now. Quote
WildCard Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) I think they should make a strong play for the Vanek-guy. He needs a change of scenery from the Island.. They list him as a winger, but from what I hear he played center once back in college, so they think he'd be a natural number 1 Edited December 10, 2013 by WildCard Quote

LGR4GM Posted December 10, 2013 Author Report Posted December 10, 2013 Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Some NHL teams could receive $45 mil when $20 mil in TV rights, $20 mil in rev share + $5 mil in escrow is factored. Floor is $52 mil. Quote

kishoph Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 This I think is a very valid point. In fact I would argue that the Scott hit was far less egregious. Kneeing a guy in the head isn't even remotely a hockey play. So the idea that Neal somehow gets less games than Scott is insane, especially considering his history. But John Scott is 6'8" and scary. Just before the game starts Pane of glass breaks and now what do we have? Any other arena and that's a major issue because of seating. In Florida, it's okay because they can just move them to other front-row seats. See, they had a plan all along with these low attendances. Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 @YahooSportsNHL Alex Ovechkin with, ahem, FOUR goals as Caps complete comeback, beat Bolts 6-5 in shootout. That's 26 goals for Ovi on the season. Quote

They just couldn't get that brown cover off of the pane of glass so they left it there. They fixed it before OT. Quote
