apuszczalowski Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 IF Fleury tanks... Ryan Miller... eh screw it. Go Sabres and screw the rest of the league!!!! They would have to send back salary, or have the Sabres agree to eat a big chunk of Millers to do it, Pens are pretty tight to the cap IIRC Saw yesterday they said they are looking, but not at Bryz as a replacement even though he could come cheap since their rivals the Flyers are paying him a nice chunk of change still Quote
LGR4GM Posted October 2, 2013 Author Report Posted October 2, 2013 Pommers looking to sign an extension by Thursday: http://www.startribu.../225942271.html "I hear the Pominville camp is looking for a long-term deal north of $5 million per – something the Wild has been trying to crack down, especially since the team wants to make certain in a few years it can afford to re-sign potential key entry-level expiring guys like Charlie Coyle and Jonas Brodin and because next summer, it would like to potentially pursue a top free agent, maybe one who used to star at the University of Minnesota." Any ideas on who they are referring to? Quote
apuszczalowski Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 3m Waivers: Fla places Scott Clemmensen. Bos: Kevan Miller on Waivers. NJ places Alexander Urbom on Waivers. Edm's Ben Eager on Waivers. I wonder if Pitts picks up Scott Clemensons off waivers. Pitts could use the 2mil in credit from Vokoun to pick up the 1.2mil for clemenson (that gets divided over the year but you know what I mean) Is it Clemmenson thats injured and the reason why they picked up Thomas? I can't remember the situation there "I hear the Pominville camp is looking for a long-term deal north of $5 million per – something the Wild has been trying to crack down, especially since the team wants to make certain in a few years it can afford to re-sign potential key entry-level expiring guys like Charlie Coyle and Jonas Brodin and because next summer, it would like to potentially pursue a top free agent, maybe one who used to star at the University of Minnesota." Maybe the Sabres should look at a deal with the Wild, Vanek to the Wild for Pommers $5mil+ for Pommers is a good deal, and if they will lose Vanek to the Wild anyways.................. Quote

Clemmenson could be injured but I thought they couldn't waive and injured guy like that? Vanek. Sorry D4rk I was being sarcastic... I need the emoticon. But yea maybe we could deal Vanek to the wild at some point. Only thing is we have most of their good stuff now. I mean they won't tank this season so their 1st rounder is meh and we already ahve their second. Quote

JJFIVEOH Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Clemmensen's been practicing for the past 2 weeks. They originally said they were looking for another goaltender because they didn't expect Clemmensen to be back that quickly. By picking up Thomas, I think they are looking for insurance for Markstrom, in my opinion they used Clemmensen as an excuse to go after a starting goaltender. Quote

JJFIVEOH Posted October 2, 2013 Report Posted October 2, 2013 Then it sounds like Clemmenson is ready to return, but they feel that Thomas is an upgrade over him and better to work with Markstrom then Pretty much. Clemmensen is a good backup, he had a bad year last year. Markstrom is full of talent, but from what I've been reading he has a lot of growing up to do. Tough to chance your season on a goaltender who needs to mature, and an aging backup. Quote

That Aud Smell Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 (edited) Colorado blowing the doors off of The ducks. on a mobile, so i can't/won't post the video of Roy going berzerk at Boudreau about a cheap shot on Mckinnon (sic?). Roy almost collapsed the partition between the benches as he screamed at him (as was said on Twitter, either that partition needs to be attached more firmly or Roy is all roided up). i know it's just one game, that we probably didn't have a chance at getting him, and that they're further into their re-build, but, seeing that score and that incident with Boudreau, I was so jealous of the Avs' ending up with Roy as their coach. Guy's just intense -- and his team is apt to be as well. Edited October 3, 2013 by That Aud Smell Quote
