26CornerBlitz Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 @tpanotchCSN Flyers traded on June 23 of yesteryears: Carter, Richards, JVR, now Hartnell Quote
Huckleberry Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 If im Giroux im seriously starting to question management Quote
That Aud Smell Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 I saw a Tweet (Mirtle?) indicating that Hartnell asked to be traded. And that reminded me of a GR550 based Tweet from last week: Philly -- whether it knows it or not -- may be an early dark horse candidate for the McDavid/Eichel sweepstakes. Quote

X. Benedict Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 That just seems like a REALLY low price to pay for Scott Hartnell. I just think there has to be more to this. The only thing I can think of is that Hartnell must have asked for a move. He had a no-trade, right? Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 @FriedgeHNIC Kekalainen: Hartnell had a lot of questions, but the toughest one was he wanted to make sure we were committed to winning... Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Even if Hartnell requested a trade, the best they could do is Umberger and a 4th? Ron Hextall is apparently aiming at being the next Scott Howson and/or Garth Snow.Unless Hartnell would only waive for CBJ (doesn't sound like it), then Hextall just got rocked in his first trade. 26CornerBlitz Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 @drosennhl Patrick Roy didn't have an update on O'Reilly and Stastny negotiations. But he said there is no tension between team and ROR. Quote

What does it say about the Flyers that their heart and soul guy who fans love wanted to GTFO to the Columbus Blue Jackets? Scotty is no dummy. This is a huge vote of no confidence. Quote

Pretty sure Hartnell wants to end up in LA and figured this was almost as good as getting traded there directly. Should be there by the trade deadline. ;) Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 @ChrisKuc Jonathan Toews said he and Patrick Kane want to play for #Blackhawks "hopefully our entire careers. That's the priority right there." Jonathan Toews on contract extension: "We're in discussions right now but as far as I know nothing is concrete." #Blackhawks Asked Jonathan Toews if there was any scenario where he wouldn't sign contract extension with #Blackhawks: "Very doubtful." Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 @Aportzline: Hartnell said the #Flyers "basically said I was done there." Quote
qwksndmonster Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 I still see Patty Kane coming to Buffalo in 2015. Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 @JoeYerdonPHT: Flyers have re-signed Brayden Schenn to a multi-year extension. Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 @reporterchris: It looks like the #bruins will go with Niklas Svedberg as a backup to Tuukka Rask next season. He's been given a one-way deal for $600,000. Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 2 years $2.5 AAV for Schenn. 2 years $2.5 AAV for Schenn. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 That explains it. I trust Mirtle. I trust (and really like) Mirtle as well, although subsequent intell indicates that Hartnell was forced out. Mirtle might've been getting the team spin in advance of the agent's spin. It does sound like Hextall wanted more cap flexibility and a different direction. Philly could be a legit bottom 5 tire fire next year. Quote
