tom webster Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 He was Arniel's assistant in Col and went back to WIndsor to GM/Own. He won a Memorial Cup I think early, but has been mediocre the past few years. Don't know if this was brought up and don't know where it belongs but we finally have a Marfan Syndrome sighting as a player from Baylor had his career ended by the diagnosis. Quote
LaLaLaFontaine Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Very nice. For those about to rock, I salute you: I love it. Fantastic job! Quote
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Don't know if this was brought up and don't know where it belongs but we finally have a Marfan Syndrome sighting as a player from Baylor had his career ended by the diagnosis. Did you notice how they figured it out at the combine? He already had a red flag because the poor kid had a detached retina...but he was still a top 50 talent. Quote

Brawndo Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey 48 secs TRADE: #Flyers deal Scott Hartnell to #CBJ for R.J. Umberger and a 2015 fourth round pick. Quote

sabre snipe Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 That just seems like a REALLY low price to pay for Scott Hartnell. Agreed. Pretty surprised by this I thought philly loved hartnell Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 It doesn't really make sense as a cap dump, either. They make the same money. Hartnell is two years longer, but that's really forward thinking if you want to do a salary dump three years down the road... Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Is this a joke? Nope! @NHLFlyers BREAKING: The #Flyers have acquired R.J. Umberger in exchange for Scott Hartnell. Details → http://nhlflye.rs/1l3PVsY pic.twitter.com/E1setFk2yr Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Even more impressive when you look at it like this: @reporterchris: The #CBJ likely would have used a compliance buyout on R.J. Umberger by June 30. Instead they turned him into Scott Hartnell. Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Thank you all. Physics, that has to be your new avatar. <- For you. Quote

Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) @reallisa: Looking like Kings defenseman Matt Greene will be staying. In LA. Deal is close... Could mean the end for Willie Mitchell there. Many thought they'd only get one or the other. Unless, of course, Gaborik walks. That'd open up some money. Edited June 23, 2014 by Tankalicious Quote
Iron Crotch Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 The Flyers had a great young team in 2011.... then for some reason they decided to get rid of everyone: Carter, Richards, JVR, Hartnell... not sure why the keep dumping their scoring forwards. Must be something going on behind the scenes with Hartnell? Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Something something Hartnell's wife. Quote

26CornerBlitz Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) In 2017... Hartnell 5 years left vs Umberger 3 years left and no more CBOs after this year. Edited June 23, 2014 by 26CornerBlitz Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Hartnell 5 years left vs Umburger 3 years left and no more CBOs after this year. Philly doesn't have any CBO's left anyways. Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Philly doesn't have any CBO's left anyways. Even more reason to have Cap flexibility. Maybe they trade Umberger to the Sabres and they CBO him? Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 @DarrenDreger: Looks like Matt Greene is staying in LA. Work finishing up on a 4 year deal. Quote
Hoss Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) This is BIG for Montreal's offseason... @CanadiensMTL: Canadiens agree to terms on a three-year contract extension with defenseman Andrei Markov. Huckleberry Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) Is this a joke? Good im not the only one not understanding this trade, unless he is part of another trade. But who would want Umberger ? Edited June 23, 2014 by Heimdall Quote
