CallawaySabres Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Hard to picture him in a Sabres uni after this level of excitement - yeesh. I think it would be best for both parties involved. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2014/04/30/ehrhoff-if-sabres-want-to-move-me-they-can-move-me/ Quote

Iron Crotch Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 @SNHockeyCentral Pending UFA Jaromir Jagr officially re-signs with Devils for one more year. Jagr played with guys like Bryan Trottier and Joe Mullen back in the day. He's been around for a while. ;) Quote

shrader Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Not to mention "Le Magnifique". Potato's examples are great because Trottier and Mullen were born in 1956 and 1957 (Lemieux in 65). So Jagr played with players born in the 50s and also players born in the 90s. There was a 37 year age gap between the youngest and oldest player Jagr ever played with. He's right up there with Gordie Howe who had an age gap of 44 years (players didn't last into their 30s when Gordie got his start). It's a crazy stat to think about. Quote

That is some crazy awesome stat. Quote

Iron Crotch Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 My math could be off a bit. I only looked at the first and last year they each played. I just like that Jagr is older than me. :) Trottier won 4 straight cups with the Isles then a decade later won a couple more with the Penguins. Quite a career! Quote

Quite a career! And before I looked into it, I thought Trottier was significantly older than Mullen but they're basically the same age. I must just think Trottier is older since so much of that success came so early in his career. Quote

darksabre Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 The only surprise is it took this long Bring him to Buffalo as an assistant. Could you imagine him and Teddy trying fight the other bench? Quote
Hoss Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Torts should FINALLY be done in the NHL. Coaches with one Stanley Cup win get overrated so often... Torts and Bylsma are the poster children for that. Quote
JJFIVEOH Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 The only surprise is it took this long I think this is the end of the line for Torts. Quote
Eleven Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 I can see Washington or Florida hiring Tortorella. I do not want him here in any capacity. Once all the coaching vacancies are established, we should have a prediction contest or something. Quote

wjag Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 I think Seabrook should get the Norris. He clearly won the Hawks-Blues series. Quote

X. Benedict Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 I think this is the end of the line for Torts. He'll be back. Certainly not the right fit for Vancouver. I think he'd be an excellent coach for a team such as Nashville, however. Quote

sabre snipe Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie Hearing NYI are working on a trade with WSH to get pending UFA G Jaro Halak. just saw that… interesting… i wonder what washington gets for him (very late round pick?) and what the Isles offer him contract wise. he's really not that bad of a goalie, but if they get him i hope he is horrible next year :flirt: would be funny if he turned down their offer like ehrhoff did but i don't think hell have too many options to be a starter Quote
LGR4GM Posted May 1, 2014 Author Report Posted May 1, 2014 Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey #Caps trade Jaroslav Halak to #Isles for a fourth rounder in 2014. Via NYIslanders @NYIslanders #ISLES TRANSACTION: Islanders Acquire Jaroslav Halak - http://nyisl.es/wnEaw Quote
sabre snipe Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 4th round draft pick is whats being reported. Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 54s Caps announced they've traded pending UFA netminder Jaro Halak to Islanders for a 4th-round pick. i don't really understand why any team ever trades for the negotiating rights to a player, when that player could just walk in a 2 months for nothing, but that being said i think the isles will be able to sign him and he's a good fit. Caps now are without Neuvirth and Halak. Who do they have behind holtby? do they make a run at hiller? miller? Quote
dudacek Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Halak is about the best option that would actually consider signing with the Islanders. Smart of Snow to get out in front of this one. I hope he decides to go back to Europe. Quote
