IKnowPhysics Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Here part one and part two of Aaron Ward's, so far, fantastic three-part series called "Re-Orientation." It's a documentary about homosexuality in sport. Definitely an important topic that will continue to evolve going forward... Neat. I'm an Ally, so I'll watch that when I get home from work. Quote
deluca67 Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Quote from Leafs GM Nonis: "Kadri and Gardiner's names are brought up quite a bit in trade talks. So is Rielly's. We'd be willing to trade Kadri." That lockerroom really needed this kind of stupid comment. What do you find "stupid?" The GM is saying anyone can be traded, nothing wrong with that. Quote
bunomatic Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 What do you find "stupid?" The GM is saying anyone can be traded, nothing wrong with that. Agreed. This is the time of year GMs throw out the carrot to see who's interested. Also to motivate players. Quote
inkman Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Agreed. This is the time of year GMs throw out the carrot to see who's interested. Also to motivate players. There is motivating players and there alienating players. I think Nonis achieved the latter. Good, ###### the Leaves and really ###### Kadri. Quote
Trettioåtta Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 What do you find "stupid?" The GM is saying anyone can be traded, nothing wrong with that. He is saying the opposite. These three names always come up in trade rumours. He would be willing to deal one of the three. Thus he won't be willing to trade the other two Quote
apuszczalowski Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Nonis saying "We would listen to trades for any of our players" or "If an offer is made that we can't refuse we could move one of those players" is what good GMs would say in that situation Of course GMs might also throw out names in conversations with other GMs as guys they could move for the right price. The problem here that makes this stupid on Nonis is that he actually comes out and talks about 3 players he gets offers for, then specifically names one of them saying he could be traded. That should work wonders in your lockerroom and with this young player. Quote

Taro T Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 What do you find "stupid?" The GM is saying anyone can be traded, nothing wrong with that. As others have stated, he didn't say 'anyone' could be traded; he said certain ones couldn't but someone else could. Not typically good for overall morale. Quote

bunomatic Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 In other news. Hanzal of the Coyotes put out 3 Canucks with crafty stickwork last night. All within 5 minutes of play. Crosschecks to the ribs on santorelli and sedin and the last one a crosscheck to the neck of Booth. The league should look at the last one with the other two taken into consideration. Quote
Hoss Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod2m Sounds like Oilers/Panthers might have made a minor deal, seeing as how some FLA players tweeted goodbye to Steve Pinizzotto last night. Looks like an AHL trade with Pinizzotto and Jack Combs going for Derek Nesbitt. Definitely a domino for a Miller to Florida and Edmonton at the same time. Breaking up the RIT boys in Vancouver eh? Always liked Pinner and I wish Tanev hadn't bailed to the NHL after one year. Quote

I thought pinner has been gone from VAN? I love Tanev and also wished he hadn't left so soon. Glad to see him thriving. Quote
Hoss Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Official word: Edmonton Oilers @EdmontonOilers10m #Oilers acquire forwards Steve Pinizzotto and Jack Combs from @FlaPanthers in exchange for forwards Ryan Martindale and Derek Nesbitt. Quote

Hoss Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 4-4 Tampa vs San Jose. Marty St. Louis has all four goals for Tampa. Had three in the first. Quote

josie Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 Martin St. Louis has scored all 4 of Tampa Bay's goals against San Jose. The Sharks are winning by one with most of the third to go. Just tuned in. Quote
dudacek Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 Marty is awesome. Will Philly ever get it when it comes to goalies? Quote
IKnowPhysics Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 What a bunch of morons. The Flyers always have made and always will make terrible goaltending decisions. Will Philly ever get it when it comes to goalies? Nope. Quote

Eleven Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Marty is awesome. Will Philly ever get it when it comes to goalies? I've said it before; I'll say it again: Filly's goaltending hit the wall in the 80s. And that one is getting called back. Just like I said. Quote
