JJFIVEOH
To an extent TG did Buffalo a favor. He never really wanted to be an owner (this was my perception, but I became a fan after he bought it). He just wanted to keep the team in Buffalo. So he bought it, ran it so it broke even most years and sold it for what he paid for it (plus inflation and any loss it had accrued) He also did BFLO a favor by selling it to Pegula at a discount because he knew Pegula would keep the team in BFLO. Higher offers he got couldn't guaranty that.

Eleven
So this was my first intermission entertainment: "14 Minutes of Pissed Off Goalies" Some memories in there--but no Robert Esche!

Around the 5:05 mark, right in between Malarchuk and Miller.

LGR4GM
Brad Trevliving will be the new GM for the Calgary Flames. Is apparently the only person who was interviewed for the position. Announcement expected later today. Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun Really like Brad Treliving hire in Calgary. Inspired choice. Modern thinker. Good fit in my mind. Iron Crotch
They finally got the Norris trophy candidates right this year... Keith, Chara, and Shea Weber.
Hoss
I saw Chara get burned way too many times this year to consider him for the Norris. Should be Suter or Keith with Weber in third.
Iron Crotch
I saw Chara get burned way too many times this year to consider him for the Norris. Should be Suter or Keith with Weber in third. IMHO, all of these guys play 25+ minutes per night. So they'll get burned once in a while purely because they're always on the ice (i.e. more opportunity to get burned). That said, Suter could have definitely been in there and I also think Pietrangelo and Doughty are worthy of consideration. I'm biased toward Weber, but I think Duncan Keith might be the best all-around defenseman in the game as of right now. He was spectacular in the St. Louis series. Hoss
They might all play over 25 minutes but Suter was right below 30 minutes, which is insane.
qwksndmonster
Shea Weber has been passed over time and time again when he deserved the trophy. I haven't seen enough of Keith and Weber this season to say who's been better but I hope Weber gets it.

Marvelo
This is cool. A Washington-area illustrator has made Game of Thrones-style banners for every NHL team. Why can't the Sabres get a professional designer instead of one of Pegula's lame cronies doing the uniforms? http://www.thehockey...for-every-team/ Edited April 29, 2014 by

Why can't the Sabres get a professional designer instead of one of Pegula's lame cronies doing the uniforms? While the current thirds are terrible, I don't see how that banner shows what "a professional designer" could do. Pretty uninspired itself. Marvelo
Anything is better than those clown outfit thirds. Maybe they made them wear the thirds to embarrass them even more with the putrid way they were playing.
LGR4GM
FOX Sports Florida @SunSportsFOXFL .@FlaPanthers will have a new coach behind the bench next season, won't retain interim coach Peter Horachek. http://msn.foxsports.com/florida/story/panthers-relieve-interim-head-coach-peter-horachek-of-duties-042914 … Not surprised, Florida really needs to start taking the step forward instead of seemingly going backwards. Most of them are pretty plain. Cool concept though (it got my click)

WildCard
I could see that. Trotzy would replace his former long-time assistant, Peter Horachek. Supposedly the Caps have an interest in Trotz too. Either one would help bad teams get better, can't hurt the Sabre's chance of Tank 2.0 being successful. Neither can this: Jagr had a new deal to stay with the Devils,1 X $5-6. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nhl/story/_/id/10858196/jaromir-jagr-close-one-year-deal-new-jersey-devils-according-reports
IKnowPhysics
Either one would help bad teams get better, can't hurt the Sabre's chance of Tank 2.0 being successful. Good call. I wouldn't be surprised if Brad Treliving gives Trotz a call too. All these low end teams are trying to get better, but the Sabres and Islanders seem to be standing pat, sort of. Definitely beneficial for Tank 2.0: Double Barrel'd.
