deluca67
I watch any hockey game that is on tv. It's why I bought game center. But that doesn't mean I'm going to fan boy over every other team in the league. Same for me. Except replace gamecenter with "am a frequenter of firstrowsports." I generally have a team that I pull for in every game, but I don't get fan boy fever over anybody but the Sabres. I'm a Sabres fan. I don't change from Detroit one year to New Jersey the next. If you can't appreciate the better teams in the NHL who play a better brand of hockey then what's the point? I'm not going to stifle my love of the game by limiting it to the local franchise. Especially since the local franchise has been a train wreck in the making for some time now. It would greatly help the quality of the board if more posters spent more time watching teams outside of the Sabres. Maybe then we wouldn't end up with posts that say how good a player Leino is or that Cody Hodgson is a #1 center or even tin the foil hat conspiracies of how the NHL favors teams and certain players. At times this board seems like M. Night Shyamalan's The Village. There are 29 other teams out there and hundreds of quality players that fans should familiarize themselves with. It will help clarify exactly where the Sabres stand compared to those other teams soften the blow when the reality of a 4-5 season timeline for a turnaround becomes reality. But I'm not going to pump their tires here. This is a Sabres forum.

Thank you, each team has their own forum, if u feel so inclined no one will stop anyone from posting there... 26CornerBlitz
Make no mistake: almost-approved Markham arena is for an NHL team The people most directly involved with building an NHL-caliber, 20,000-seat rink in suburban Toronto held another news conference Saturday. The mayor of the City of Markham, Frank Scarpitti, talked about the rink being the permanent home for the Clarkson Cup, an off-shore team in a Chinese professional basketball league and perhaps even an Ontario League team. But this rink, the GTA Centre, is about the NHL. Always has, always will be. Everyone involved in this project is tiptoeing around the subject of an NHL team because they all want to play nice. But nobody is going to take on a project like this one without visions of an NHL team dancing in their heads. I’ll write this again so everyone knows it: the NHL is the end game here. And as the City of Markham closes in on a crucial vote on whether or not to accept the financial framework Tuesday night, that’s a crucial point
