Hoss
Lots of scuttlebutt that Eberle is the young star the Oilers have decided to jettison to fix their team and it's going to happen soon. We need to be all over that. They'll almost 100% demand a first rounder this year as part of a bigger package. No thanks. I love Eberle but no thanks. If we could pull something off like Ehrhoff (or Myers or Pysyk) plus a 2nd rounder (or 2), and another prospect then I'd be all over it. dudacek
Darren Dreger says otherwise :P Darren Dreger: In the eyes of Oilers management, Jordan Eberle will be an Oiler forever. He’s not a trade target GM of team A can inquirer or look into any player they'd like, that doesn't mean team B, who has aforementioned player, is going to trade them however. Well Dreger would know better than the internet gossip that sparked my post . Still, they aren't trading him or Yak. Does that mean Hall and RNH should be nervous? Did they dump Smid because they think a couple guys who couldn't make the Flames are the solution? Or are they still holding out for that Ales Hemsky for Shea Weber deal? A buddy of mine thinks Hall should be the one that goes — he's too brittle physically and mentally to be a franchise guy, but still packs enough cred to get a better return than any of the big four. Taro T
@EJRadek_NHL Dale Tallon is on the clock. I expect FLA's new ownership group to clean out its hockey operations staff before the start of next season IF true, keep DR until the end of the year and then grab Tallon when he's available. He's no Dean Lombardi, but not many are.

JJFIVEOH
Tallon has been given a blank check from the new owner. I fear Tallon is getting into a similar situation as Darcy did with Pegula when he first arrived. I think Tallon wants to continue with his plan, maybe making a couple of changes to get them in a right direction (goalie and a proven veteran forward?). The new owner wants bigger changes. I've seen countless interviews with Tallon over the years, he's straight up, transparent and will tell you what's on his mind whether you like it or not. Since Viola took over, Tallon has been very scripted, salesman-like.
26CornerBlitz
Stamkos is down in Boston with a leg injury after crashing into the goal post. Being stretchered off the ice. Looks bad.

I believe they dumped Smid in preparation of another move. Neither of those players picked up from Calgary are going to do much in Edmonton. I think many hockey fans that follow the talent somewhat closely feel the same way. I also believe Hemsky will get moved as well. Maybe as part of a blueline solution, just speculating on that end of it though. My eye is on the cap for them, and not just short term, but somewhat longer term as well. Agreed on Hall. I too feel it would be foolish to jettison Eberle and to early to do the same to Yak.

The move with Calgary with Smid was to clear cap space to sign Bryz. Its why the move took a while to announce cause they had to wait for the physicals to finish and the trade to be official to give them room to sign Bryz
