LGR4GM Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) With the Bernier thing and the playoffs potentially over tonight, I think it is time for around the NHL 2014. Seems as though we are just about there. http://www.sportsnet...-a-no-1-goalie/ Edited June 24, 2013 by LGR4GM Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 Is it not about 6 months early, unless you edit the thread title to be 2013 - 2014 .......... :P Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 24, 2013 Author Report Posted June 24, 2013 Is it not about 6 months early, unless you edit the thread title to be 2013 - 2014 .......... :P no? the 2013 one was started on June 25 2012, so June 24 2013 we should start the new one as it pertains to the 2014 season Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 no? the 2013 one was started on June 25 2012, so June 24 2013 we should start the new one as it pertains to the 2014 season 2013-14 actually starts after the SCF is done....no? Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) no? the 2013 one was started on June 25 2012, so June 24 2013 we should start the new one as it pertains to the 2014 season OK, but the original thread for last season (2012-13) was started in June as ... 2012 - 2013. Chz edited the thread tilte to just ... 2013 after the 2012 part of the season was lost to the lockout. A lockout seems unlikely this season, so I still say that the thread should be ... 2013 - 14 .......... :P Just yanking your chain a bit. This offseason is dragging. Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 You realize this was two full weeks after the Cup final ended right? Details, details. Give the youngster a break. At least he hasn't proposed a completely far fetched and out to lunch trade in the thread yet .......... :P Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 24, 2013 Author Report Posted June 24, 2013 You realize this was two full weeks after the Cup final ended right? Lockout shortened season screwed up the schedule? Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Darcy sucks. Fire Darcy!! Right after he drafts ......... FUCALE!! EDIT TO ADD: At 8, or 16. Edited June 24, 2013 by Sabres Fan In NS Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 24, 2013 Author Report Posted June 24, 2013 Fire Darcy!! Right after he drafts ......... FUCALE!! Can we take Fucale at 52 because that would be about as early as I would care for that scenario. Quote
darksabre Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 Can we take Fucale at 52 because that would be about as early as I would care for that scenario. Bingo. Quote
Hoss Posted June 24, 2013 Report Posted June 24, 2013 2013-14 actually starts after the SCF is done....no? 13-14 starts on July 1st. The first day of the league year. (Although it might actually be July 5th this year, not sure if they're defining that as the start of the new league year or as just a delayed free agency start). Quote
26CornerBlitz Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 (edited) 2014 Stanley Cup odds are out with Buffalo tied for 2nd to last at 50-1. Only Florida is worst at 100-1. @EyeOnHockey Penguins tabbed favorites for 2014 Stanley Cup, Blackhawks second http://cbsprt.co/14pixpF Edited June 25, 2013 by 26CornerBlitz Quote
spndnchz Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 Lets wait until next week for this. Quote
LGR4GM Posted July 3, 2013 Author Report Posted July 3, 2013 The cup was handed out last week, the draft is over and the UFA courting period starts today at noon. Now can I start this? We need to switch to the new season because I am way over what happened last year. Lets go! Phoenix and Glendale agree to lease agreement http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=426847 Looks like it will be for 15yrs and 225million bucks. Good now does Phoenix finally have an owner then? Dupuis just got resigned as well, 4yr deal worth 15mil http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=426835 Quote
biodork Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Liger beat me to it, but here's another link on the Glendale deal: http://www.azcentral.com/community/glendale/articles/20130702city-council-oks-multimillion-dollar-deal-keep-team-glendale.html?nclick_check=1 Hopefully with a little more stability they can work on building up the fan base to make that franchise profitable. darksabre Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 That sucks. Seattle would have been much less of a headache. Quote
LaFontaineToMogilny Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Great, so now the NHL gets to use Phoenix as an example of how the league is losing money in the next CBA negotiations as well. #lockouthattrick Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Welcome to Hockey Purgatory Phoenix. The city council vote was 4 - 3. Not a ringing endorsement of the plan. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) Rask said to be getting a deal for $56M/8. That'd be 1 of the 2 or 3 biggest cap hits for a goalie int he league. https://twitter.com/EyeOnHockey/status/352448775178043394 Don't the Bruins know how to build a hockey team? We here in Buffalo know that you can't devote that much $$ to a goalie. Edited July 3, 2013 by That Aud Smell Quote
