Eleven Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 When does Corsi get fired? Are Corsi's days numbered?
IKnowPhysics Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 Are Corsi's days numbered? I smiled. Only with with the relative quality of competition.
nobody Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Are Corsi's days numbered? I don't know if I should go with  or
IKnowPhysics Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 @BillHoppeNHL Seems very likely Chadd Cassidy will be promoted ... has been Rolston's top aid for years. Blurb on Cassidy when Rolston was promoted. Full writeup on Amerks' front office page. I don't know if I should go with  or  Just don't go with plus-minus.
LabattBlue Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 When does Corsi get fired? Probably have to check with Millsie first. Don't want to send him into one of his hissy fits.
Doohicksie Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Teppo still on board, though. Bucky's tweet: Source: James Patrick and Kevyn Adams have been fired. Teppo is staying. Darcy loves Teppo. Darcy and Patrick not best buds. I've been holding this thread at arm's distance, but it should get interesting now.
IKnowPhysics Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 Im guessing Craig Ramsey will be an assistant. He's still with Florida as an assistant under Kevin Dineen.
Two or less Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 He's still with Florida as an assistant under Kevin Dineen. Didn't realize that, never mind. Thank you. Imagine if we hired his brother and Cassidy? El oh el.
North Buffalo Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 So this is out there but assistants have not yet been named, let me guess they are named after 5pm on a Friday to avoid the normal weekday new cycle? A DC PR trick.
IKnowPhysics Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 Imagine if we hired his brother and Cassidy? El oh el. Individually, I would consider those two among the most likely candidates. Mostly because think I head coaches tend to consider "guys they can work with" among the more important qualities.
bcsaberks Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 I don't know enough about what Adams and Patrick do to give them a fair assessment. But I like this for two reasons: It shows Rolston is not afraid to make tough decisions and be his own man. And it gives hope for a power play that never should have been that bad. Leino benching too. So much for the claims that Darcy screwed Teppo that year w/ the contract / heart condition thing. Seems things are pretty cool between him and the org after all.
Trettioåtta Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Does he know how to orchestrate a PP? @BillHoppeNHL Seems very likely Chadd Cassidy will be promoted ... has been Rolston's top aid for years. AHL coaches for an AHL team. Makes sense
IKnowPhysics Posted May 9, 2013 Author Report Posted May 9, 2013 So much for the claims that Darcy screwed Teppo that year w/ the contract / heart condition thing. Seems things are pretty cool between him and the org after all. Teppo's the Finnish Rico Suave. He hates no man.
X. Benedict Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Then how do you explain off 75% of teams with a head coach as assistant making the playoffs and 17% without one making it? Again...the numbers were similar last time as well. That seems like simple enough to me. What voodoo numbers are we using to deflect this from the inept Sabres this time? That's a pretty advanced statistic you are throwing out there.
SabresBillsFan Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Very glad Patrick is gone just the way the defense has performed the last couple of years was reason he should be fired. I thought they kept him too long. He should have been working with Myers consistently and help him get to that next level.
darksabre Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 I'm glad Teppo is staying. I wonder if Ron's idea was that he doesn't need two defensive minded coaches and figured he liked Teppo for that role. Cassidy and the brother Brian would make good offensive minded assistants. Let's see what happens.
shrader Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Teppo joined the coaching staff the same year Rolston joined the organization, right?
Stoner Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Well, if you disappear again, we'll keep an eye for you in the news. :) http://www.bfro.net/...ure_image_1.asp Proven to be a Sabre fan with mange. Cassidy's a bad boy. Me like. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://blogs.roanoke.com/theburgs/files/2011/11/Chad-Cassidy.jpg&imgrefurl=http://blogs.roanoke.com/theburgs/news/2011/11/30/montgomery-county-investigators-charge-two-in-daylight-burglaries/attachment/chad-cassidy/&usg=__eKg9l5mwShUnfVXZyjLeDYYezqg=&h=224&w=225&sz=24&hl=en&start=1&zoom=1&tbnid=zUx7F2swi_BXmM:&tbnh=108&tbnw=108&ei=nzGMUefOJZO14APs6oCoBA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dchad%2Bcassidy%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DX%26rls%3Den%26tbm%3Disch%26prmd%3Divnso&itbs=1&sa=X&ved=0CCwQrQMwAA
North Buffalo Posted May 9, 2013 Report Posted May 9, 2013 Oh Crap, Islander announcer Howie Rose was just talking about how much time a team spends in the other team's zone affects their goals against, a metric designed by Sabre goaltender coach Jim Corsi. Butch Goring's response was and he must be looking for a job. Rose said, no he still has one and then there was an abrupt cut to commercial.... So those who think Corsi is gone might be on to something.... hmmm.
grinreaper Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 I always liked James Patrick as a steady player and really good for the Sabres as a six or seventh defenseman. Can't say much about him as an assistant coach, but I understand he was quite upset and vocal when Ruff was fired and he didn't get to replace him. Like it or not, you can't blame Rolston for not wanting to look over his shoulder.
IKnowPhysics Posted May 10, 2013 Author Report Posted May 10, 2013 James Patrick... I understand he was quite upset and vocal when Ruff was fired and he didn't get to replace him. Where's this coming from?
IKnowPhysics Posted May 10, 2013 Author Report Posted May 10, 2013 D&C: Patrick and Adams, who were hired by former head coach Lindy Ruff, were not retained. Rolston is keeping assistant coach Teppo Numminen and goalie coach Jim Corsi.

In any field, a boss afraid of ambitious underlings is a lousy boss.
shrader Posted May 10, 2013 Report Posted May 10, 2013 Where's this coming from? I heard a comment from one of the guys on XM's NHL station stating as much. So it's definitely out there.
