(1) to Drane's "point," the better Canadian coaches out of the playoffs usually get this gig.

(2) I don't think he ends up on Sochi. Maybe, but I don't think so.

I think it'll be Babcock's if he wants it.

"You just go through a lot of different emotions," said Ruff. "Obviously, it’s the first time being let go; you need some time away. You go through the angry emotions, the emotions of missing the game. You want to watch; you don’t want to watch. But when you get to this time of the year in the NHL and the intensity around the playoff picture, you really start to miss it. It’s almost like a jealousy. You’re sitting on the outside, and you’re not involved."

At least you find yourself funny. That's one thing going for you.

I have no gift to bring....parump pa pa pum.......

If it would make you feel any better.....maybe I can just put a whole pack of bandaids on my arms and methodically rip all the hair off.

Nice and slow?

I don't know how I'd feel, but I'd watch that once.

I laughed, mostly because I was thinking something very similar while read Lindy's quote.

ESPN cited sources that 13 players have so far committed to play for Canada at the World Championships. Zero Sabres so far. Although, Brian Campbell is on the squad.

Still some space left. Only Sabres that deserve to be on it i think are Hodgson and Ott. Ott said he was invited to the last 2 but rejected due to injuries and hes healthy now...

Only 2-3 spots for forwards are left, though.

I do. I enjoy watching former Sabres, people who were residents of WNY and fought in its good name attempting to win a Cup, go on to do other neat things.

Damn, I wanted the first at-bat on that one.

But yeah, you hit it out.

Really. So how do you feel about Roy, Connolly, Larry Quinn etc. Convenient to be selective, isn't it? I like Ruff, but he has moved on after an extended career here which in all honesty, lacked the big prize.Plus by all standards, no coach who has NEVER won a cup had such a run. It's easy to blame his players, which he had no control over with his best buddy, DR, who was FORCED by upper mgt. to fire him. Sorry, he had a hand in building this team and got his just dessert. He won the big zero after 14 years. This city loves it's own, which is commendable, but he made big money, raised his family in one town, and it was his time to go. If he was smart with his money, he's set for life in his early 50's. Who on this board wouldn't love that? Somehow DR, MR. milk toast, survives, Ugh! After 30+ years a a st holder, I am voting with my feet.

I follow Larry Quinn because he's a real estate developer.

Following Ruff is like following LaFontaine or Robert after they left, not like Connolly.

I watch them when the convenient opportunity arises or when I feel like it, which in Connolly's case, isn't very often, thankfully. But why would you assume I share your opinions about Sabres after they leave? Convenient to be presumptuous, isn't it?

You can hate on him for never winning a cup with us, but he's still one of the most accomplished Sabres coach in franchise history and I don't hate on him because he worked in a profession that rewards with an enviable retirement plan. And Eleven's right, how many fan-favorite former stars do you hate on because they never won the cup and/or left on strange terms? LaFontaine, Hasek, Peca, Drury, others?

This city loves it's own, which is commendable

You're right, so I don't know why you're surprised by this or feel the need to question this.
