"If you were a butterfly, what color butterfly would you want to be?" "Oh, Coach, I just wanna play hockey, eh?"

Sabres had tough questions. "My question has two parts, A) what is the meaning of life? and B) Incorporate your answer into quantitative terms how this will translate into more or less ice time? You have 28 seconds. Go."

"If you were on the ice when Milan Lucic just took out your franchise goalie, what would you do?"

Great question. The answer better not be to go to the farthest corner and wet my pants.

Sean Monahan and Elias Lindholm's answer: "Break my stick over his face then run over their franchise goalie"

Deeply probative questions?

@THNRyanKennedy Hanging out at the draft combine today and it's funny: kids have all said different teams for toughest interview: OTT, BUF, MTL and SJ so far

If you are walking in a forest, and you come across a necrophiliac bear, would you still play dead ?

Steve Yzerman says the #TBLightning won't be trying to pry the No. 1 draft pick from the #avs. He is happy at No. 3.

So it seems that as expected TB is not interested in trading out of 3... so everyone can be done with a Miller to TB trade.

He said he's not trying to move up.

He's happy at three because the Sabres are prepared to sell the farm to get there.

I'm just saying. ;-)

Yzerman also said he doesn't have the ammunition to get to #1. If he doesn't have the pieces to go 3-1, I'd say it's safe money that we don't have the ammunition to go 8-3 or, for the real dreamers out there, 8-1.

Good thing some of us only want to go 8-4 :P

Why do we put even an ounce of weight into what these GMs say at this point?

I think it more just for conversational purposes than actually taking it at face value.

Ha. Well played sir.

Buffalo's Kevin Devine (Director of Amateur Scouting) said they interviewed 75 of the invitees at the combine, including the two WNY kids Justin Bailey and Sean Malone. They'll also work out (on-ice testing) around 75 prospects (approximately 30-40 invitees from the combine, plus others) at First Niagara Center next week.

- The fact that these two are friends and have played together, will that come into play when Buffalo picks? Director of amateur scouting Kevin Devine said, “I think it does, I don’t know what the percentage would be, but it’s something we definitely would think about. You take a guy like Armia, there’s a couple of real good Finns in the draft. He’s coming over this year so it would be nice to have somebody of that group. You can’t deny that if somebody has chemistry with somebody and they’re up in the draft, and we’ve got a player that’s already played with a guy, I think that does come into play.”

I say interesting because Lindholm could be the guy they are targeting at 8. It would be my guess as I believe they will assume Calgary takes Monahan, Carolina Nichushkin, and Edmonton Nurse.

note that Lindholm is Swedish not a Finn. Barkov and Ristolainen are!
