Any young high schoolers out there in the US making waves? Just curious, the Sabres always seem to grab one in the late rounds.

Looking at the above list I see Connor Hurley, Center, Edina-US High School, and another Defenseman and there are few others in the 100-250 range. There always seems to be a guy, is this him?

I am reasonably certain that SFiNS has quit as an accountant and signed on as Fucale's agent.

;)

And, Trey Lewis (did you catch the video I linked in the Captains thread of him taking care of business when Fucale got run the other night) ... to be the Sabre captain.

Interesting, the guy several people on here wanted with a first round pick and some experts predicted to be Sabres first round pick, Zach Fucale, barely makes it in the top-100.

Never heard of this clown that did this hot shot ranking, but he's a bum. Yeah, a bum clown.

Step one is to take off the Halifax glasses :P

Step two is to read the intro to last year's rankings I posted. Unless you can somehow tell a goalie is a generational talent ahead of time, he doesn't believe in taking them early, just doesn't think the value and risk/reward warrant it.

I don't have Halifax glasses, but I do have a big Moosehead tattoed on my _ _ _ (you all can fill in the blanks).

I will admit that I did not read the rankings you posted, sorry.

I agree generally an early pick on a goalie is not worth it.

7:40 PM, what in blazes am I doing here?

Game on!!

*Fucale to the castle* ... bonus points to anyone knowing that reference.

GO MOOSEHEADS!!

Not a fan of taking a goalie in the first two rounds. Most goalies can be taken in later rounds. Look at our system folks we don't need another goalie. This team needs offense. You look at our lineup and our prospects and no-one really scares you. I suspect if we keep all 4 picks in the first two rounds I expect 3 forwards and 1 defenseman.

I want Trey Lewis too, the video you posted in the other thread convinced me that i want him in our pipeline of talents.

Trade Vanek to Edmonton for their 1st rounder + 4th rounder

Trade Miller to Calgary for either their top pick or a late 1st and their 3rd rounder

Then offer Florida and Tampa 2/3 of our top 16 picks

The mock drafts are all over the place, and none of them seem to understand the Sabres. The Sabres are going to grab all of the centers they can in the first round, no ifs, ands, or buts.

I hope they get a winger (Erne) with their 16th pick. We have Coho, Grigo, Larsson, Girgs and our first pick of 2013. Meanwhile on wing we have Foligno, Armia and Tropp

I think if they over-stock at center, then they can assess who is the best fit and use the rest for trades towards better assets. It's not like they're in a hurry.

I would think Calgary is looking to rebuild as the Sabres are. Miller wouldn't make any sense for them.

Edmonton should be the target for Miller. They need a goalie and don't need another high pick. 7th + something for Miller

Edmonton and Buffalo are very logical trade partners, but instead of number 7, I would be targeting young forwards already in their roster.

Target both. Edmonton needs to take that next big step soon, they maybe willing to overpay for that big piece of their puzzle. A Miller trade will be crucial to the Sabres rebuild, the return needs to be significant. Much more than what the Sabres received for Pominville, maybe more than a return for Thomas Vanek.

well there is that little issue with luongos contract which hangs like an albatros around his neck. That alone makes Miller more valuable and easier to move.

Yes I believe this is probably accurate. Sometime Tuesday ill put up my final mock for picks 1-16

Luongo will be a free agent.

I still feel quite strongly the Sabres will make every attempt to acquire (then buy out) bad salaries from other teams if they can gain a pick or prospect in the process.

Here are some who might be on the market:

If the Rags want to get rid of Richards for nothing, why not throw a mid-round pick to them for him?

I know this roster is bereft of actual NHL talent but BR has long carried a torch of being the type of player the Sabres don't want.

That being said, with the state of this team, I'll take any player that at least makes it interesting.

You don't even have to move them. You can shift them out to the wing. Then instead of having a guy like Jochen Hecht as an emergency center, you have an actual center. It's a nice luxury to have.

Since he showed absolutely no interest in coming to the Sabres as a UFA, what makes you think he would accept a trade to the Sabres. He has a NMC. Maybe TP could convince him to waive it, like he did RR.
