Drouin gets picked 3rd! They can move someone to acquire a d-man. Plus Vinny status is uncertain and St Louis is no spring chicken.

1. Colorado-- Jones

2. Florida-- MacKinnon or Drouin

3. Tampa Bay- Mackinnon or Drouin which every isn't picked at 2

4. Nashville-- Barkov

5. Carolina-- Nurse or Rasmus Ristolainen but possibly even Domi yes first real wildcard

6. Calgary-- Nichushkin

7. Edmonton-- What ever Defense isn't chosen between Nurse and Ristolainen

8. Buffalo-- Monahan at least that's what I'm hoping for

Domi in the top 10? Haven't heard that one yet.

That's why I called it the Wildcard!

So, 9 forwards with our 9 picks?

No just 4 skilled 4 forwards in the top 50. And then you take the best available player in rounds 3-7.

Didn't your own mock draft from a couple of days ago have him falling to 8?

Yes but I honestly must admit it is not a gaurentee it depends on how teams like Edmonton and TB view their forwards and defense. Also how a team like Carolina views its ability to get Nichushkins

The "experts" have the Sabres taking:

1) Shinkaruk with Lindholm on the board (Can't see that happening)

2) Monahan with Lindholm on the board (Close call)

3) Fucale with Monahan on the board (NFW)

Judging from what I heard from DR yesterday, the Sabres will not be drafting a GT in round 1. Maybe if we didn't just trade for Hackett but now there is NFW. We will be drafting the best Center available unless something strange happens or someone falls... like Drouin.

Assuming nothing changes between today and the draft, I think they'll try to move up into the top 3, but doubt it'll actually happen. With #8, I think it'll end up being one of: Monahan, Lindholm or Nichushkin (if he drops). I can't see them going with a D or G at #8.

I'd really be happy with any of those three. Personal preference in order: Nichushkin, Lindholm, Monahan.

I think the Sabres end up with two top prospects this year. I've been thinking something like Miller and #16 for Bryz, Simmonds, and pick 11. Obviously prying Simmonds out of Philly is shooting for the stars, but they have a lot of good young forwards to target if Simmonds is off the table. Read, Voracek, Couturier, Schenn. We could either buyout Bryz or platoon him with Enroth while giving Hackett the starting job in Roch and then buy him out the next year. Then additional moving up to get 8 and 11 to 6 and 8 wouldn't be that hard.

This is not unrealistic and is not a bad idea.

I don't think Philly would be too concerned about finding someone to buy out Bryzgalov for them. They're no stranger to spending money. I guess they may not be too crazy about using both of their buyouts since it sounds like Briere is a likely candidate for one.

Honestly, I think Miller and 16 for Simmonds and 11 is fair, the buyout just helps.

I don't think you want Miller in the Eastern Conference. I would think he would want to go to a West Coast team since he lives in California. San Jose is a possibility and or Anaheim(depending on what happens in the playoffs with there goaltending).

Not saying I wouldn't want Simmonds or Briere but Bryzgalov a hell no to. I wouldn't even want him around young guys in a rebuild mode.

don't try and sneak this in. Briere is old and is the past, I want nothing to do with him.

They could just buy him out and he'd never even set foot in Buffalo.

What if they traded for Briere with the intent of buying him out (basically replacing Bryz with Danny in the aforementioned proposal)? That would be hilarious. One day the headline says "Sabres bring back Briere!" and the next he's a free agent.

Miller wants a cup. Going to Philly right now is a much better shot at a cup than staying in Buffalo.

you want Briere but you don't want Bryz? How is he going to ruin young guys in a rebuild? All he would do is reinforce that goalies are crazy, not to mention he'd probably get bought out if acquired. I would love to have Bryzgalov on the team for a year, though, just for the laughs.

They still need some veterans for the younger kids. Just say this much if Peter Laviorette doesn't want Bryzgalov why in the hell would we want him.

Let us get back to the draft:

Elias Lindhom, some have predicted that Calgary takes him, which is possible but here are some of his highlights

I don't want him. I have openly stated multiple times I want nothing to do with Bryzgalov or anyone who has a lengthy deal and is older.

I'm with you. I think that guy would be poison for the youngsters in trying to build for a Cup!

I'll ask again. How would letting a crazy martian platoon next season with Enroth be poison for youngsters trying to build for a Cup?

It would be like Jerry Sullivan going back in time and meeting himself. The entire space-time continuum would be threatened by his head exploding.

So you're saying you've found a way to make Jerry Sullivan's explode? Why are you wasting your time here instead of making that happen?

I'm not authorized to trade for Briere and then release him.

Also: I like the space-time continuum the way it is.
