Why not try to do it on a weekend when the weather is a little nicer and the fanbase isn't so depressed?

Read up.

And again, anyone in for tomorrow?

I'll be there in spirit and at home with Spirit's.

Come'on all you guilty catholics it's fat Tuesday and last chance for gluttony before Lent. Give Eleven's idea a boost here might be the start of something bigger and better.

All right. Looks like just me and an unconfirmed TrueBlue.

Let's scrap this for tonight and reorganize.

Looks like weekends are preferable for most but they are a little tricky for me--I'll find one that works, though. What about a Sunday afternoon game? And is the venue (Fat Bob's) still good?

I would've been there if more had been able to! Sunday afternoon would be fine with me, although if it's an early game I'd need a week or two notice to get off work. Same goes for Saturdays. For a typical weeknight game I should be available.

Note: I highly encourage giving me a real reason to take a weekend day off :P

That would probably be much easier for me.

This looks like it's gonna be tricky. Good bar is always nice for buffalo folk. I'd like to meet up but I never know when I'm gonna be on call and that ruins a lot of plans. At least if I'm sober and in buffalo, I can make it to the hospital in time.... However staying sober is the tricky part ;)

Saturdays

3-2-2013

3-16-2013

And April 13th are all 3PM games.

I'm not around 3/2 and would really like to be there...3/16? Or is that going to jam up everyone with St. Pat's?

EDIT: Wait, those are home games. Shouldn't we be aiming for an away game to watch on TV? Otherwise we'll lose half our crowd to the FNC.

Well I certainly won't be at the game on the 16th ;) but yeah, the 2nd is out for me as well. I'll be in Cleveland

Remaining road weekend games:

Sunday March 3 @ Strangers 7:30PM

Sunday March 10 @ Phlyers 7:30PM

Sunday March 17 @ Caps 7:30PM

Saturday March 23 @Habs 7:00PM

Saturday April 20 @Pens 7:00PM

I'd probably be able to make the Habs or Pens game. The others, not so much.

Anyone consider buying tickets and attending in a small group? Recognizing that the world isn't about me (reluctantly), I'd love to fly in with my 16 year old and see a game. To others, I'd love to meet for a weekend game in any of the east coast road game cities. Father / daughter thing. She named her first guinea pig Andrew Peters and now wears a Kaleta jersey. My older daughter made a Rob Ray jersey out of a tee shirt and magic marker. Go figure.

Insert "game worn" joke here.

I'll bet many of you have great parent/child stories involving the Sabres It could be a thread. I took my son to his first Sabres game in Buffalo. He spent the entire Sabres game doing a Sabretooth play by play while I tried to explain cycling. I bought four lower bowl tickets in Tampa only to sit in the upper deck, because my kids thought it was "cool". My son and I flew to Detroit to see Dominick Hasek's first game AGAINST the Sabres after the trade. He still talks about the free mouthwash in the club where we had dinner (Detroit's Aud Club). The same season, my daughter and I caught Dom for his first game back in Buffalo. A friend gave us suite tickets, and she was glad Buffalo cheered for him. After that, she prepared a buffet in our family room for televised games that always included white popcorn, "like in the suite". On the receiving end, I remember standing outside at Niagara Falls Airport to greet the Sabres returning from Montreal during the playoffs ... with my grandmother ... '74 or '75. Take your kids. They see what you take for granted with joyful eyes.

Great, great stuff. The airport story is from 75. Must have been after they eliminated the Habs in Game 6. But people were so crazy about the team it could have been after Game 3 or 4.

That crowd was estimated at 5,000. Even if a little overestimated, still amazing. The team bus got a police escort to Buffalo.

Found this little blurb:

• A few hours later, thousands of fans crowded the Niagara Falls Airport about 2 a.m. to greet their heroes. It was so packed, Danny Gare was unaware of the girl who was climbing on his back.
