Thwomp! Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Utley and the batter are out if it's called correctly. Interference. Inning over. They suspended Utley for it afterwards, and it should have been called that way on the field. Quote
LastPommerFan Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Utley was never forced out at the bag. The only call would be the interference on him. One out. The suspension is the correct call. Quote

I'll post the rule again. 2 outs if it's called correctly on the field and not in hindsight. There is no force out requirement in the rule. Quote

Weave Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Did I hear correctly that Utley's appeal won't be heard in time and he'll likely get in the next two games? Quote
WildCard Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 So the Royals have staged a 4 run comeback in the 8th and now have it tied with bases loaded, 1 out. Meanwhile the Blue Jays have found their home run stroke and are up 4-0 in the 2nd Quote
Thwomp! Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Did I hear correctly that Utley's appeal won't be heard in time and he'll likely get in the next two games? Yeah. Congrats. In addition to Utley being a dirty scumbag he's also set to be the MLB version of Tom Brady. How inspiring. Quote
Weave Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Yeah. Congrats. In addition to Utley being a dirty scumbag he's also set to be the MLB version of Tom Brady. How inspiring. pardon me but, your whine is showing again. :P Quote
Thwomp! Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 pardon me but, your whine is showing again. :P No I'm angry. And deservedly so. Utley. MLB, but at least they're now trying to do something after the fact. And now you can add in agents, and the MLBPA. Quote
WildCard Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 So the Jays force a game 5. The question is, does Price go, or Stroman? Personally I'd pitch Stroman; Price is terrible in the postseason, and he just pitched 3 innings today. Put Stroman out there on a short leash. Honestly with the way they both pitched in Toronto, I think they had Price come in today with such a lead instead of Stroman so they can have Stroman start Quote
ubkev Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Uh oh, someone woke up the sticks in the middle of the Cubs lineup. Bryant and Rizzo going DEEP! Quote
Thwomp! Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Let's Go Mets! Now if Harvey can settle in a bit, I'd be very happy. Division Series are very competitive this year. 2 game 5s in the AL and gonna be 2 2-1 series in the NL. Quote
ubkev Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Watching Matt Harvey try to bunt is painful! Jesus Christ, you've played baseball your entire life and you can't lay down a bunt? It is literally the easiest thing to do in the entire game. If you suck that badly at it, you might as well go up hacking. Quote

Had a much better chance to hit a squibbler somewhere to move the runner over accidentally. Quote
ubkev Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Agreed that was awful. Had a much better chance to hit a squibbler somewhere to move the runner over accidentally. 1 sacrifice all season for Harvey, and he K's anyway. Send him up swinging. Quote
Thwomp! Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Bats heating up. May get to go to bed earlier than I thought tonight :D Quote
ubkev Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Bats heating up. May get to go to bed earlier than I thought tonight :D That was a freaking blast. Quote
Thwomp! Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Unless the almost impossible happens in game 3, the Mets have to beat Kershaw or Grienke and a record $270 million payroll. I like that better than having to beat Kershaw and Grienke and a record $270 million payroll. Bartolo looking good so far! :w00t: Good night, Sabrespace! Quote
ubkev Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 Bartolo looking good so far! :w00t: And fat! Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 OK ... OK!! BLUE JAYS - BLUE JAYS!! Lets play ball .......... Quote
Samson's Flow Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 OK ... OK!! BLUE JAYS - BLUE JAYS!! Lets play ball .......... ... tomorrow. It's amazing how your mindset can change from being down 0-2 to suddenly have a winner take all game 5. Not sure I agree with pitching Price in a blowout game yesterday rather than him pitching game 5 on five days rest. There was a reason he was a Cy Young candidate this year and it wasn't to mop up a 8-0 lead. But Stroman it is I guess. Some interesting managerial decisions thus far coming from our blue birds. WildCard Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 The Chicago Cubs are going back to the NLCS for the first time since 2003, or better known as the Bartman incident. As terrible of a show espn has become, they still do a great 30-for-30 segment, and their Bartman one was really something Quote
WildCard Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 Is anyone able to watch the Blue Jay's game today? Quote
Samson's Flow Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 Is anyone able to watch the Blue Jay's game today? I'm leaving work as early as possible to catch the start of the game (4pm EST). The Jays haven't been in the playoffs since I was a wee lad, I'm not missing the deciding game 5. Let's go Jays! Quote
