I just want to see the first game in an NL park where Ortiz is at first and Sandoval at 3rd. That will be the largest corners of the infield the world has ever seen. They need to somehow get Prince Fielder at 2nd and some other random fat guy at short. Maybe they can bring back Colon to pitch for that game.

Always thought perralta and Punto were a little too round for the middle infield

Or you can just Google http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/10/21/who-are-the-heftiest-shortstops-of-all-time/

http://www.si.com/co...pold-head-coach

UB hires Lance Leipold. He was an assistant under Barry Alvarez at Wisconsin for the Rose Bowl win in '93 before he started his impressive DIII career. He just needs help recruiting, but could be a good signing.

Gotta love UB reaching into D-III to find its next coach. Clearly, this program is bigtime.

The Blue Jays traded for Josh Donaldson! I really liked his game last year in Oakland, and he had the second highest position player WAR last year. Fills a huge 3B hole and gives the Jays maybe the best corner infield in the league with Encarnacion and Donaldson. Unfortunately, I fear it will further prove that they can have a lineup full of 20 and 30 HR hitters and without starting pitching will still lose 6-5.

This is coming from a place of love as I am a huge Jays fan. But teams like the SF Giants make it deep in October every year because they have multiple elite to good SP options.

Tells me that UB can't convince the Turner Gills of D1 any more. I imagine that UB is stuck with either recycling minor conference mediocrity or looking to lower levels for an up and comer. This way sure is higher risk, but maybe higher reward potential?

Jays fan huh? Sorry man. I'm gonna live bet the Jays over/under for wins again this year when they are in first place in July. You can set your watch by their mid summer collapse every year.

Yeah its just like a few years back when the Jays won the offseason trading for half the marlins. Talking heads were talking World Series in April, but the realist in me needed to see it before I bought the "contender" status.

It's a lot like my fandom of the Sabres/Bills. Cautious optimism mixed with a healthy dose of skepticism of impending doom.

I was going to dig this thread up earlier but was too lazy. Thanks for the bump.

I haven't been as excited about any UFC event as I am with UFC 182. Jones vs Cormier probably can't live up to the hype, but boy do those guys hate each other. The vitriol leading up to it between the two has been classic.

Let's go Bones!

I want Jon to fall soon, but I don't want it to be to DC. This is Jon's first big public fight in the sense that he has always been a talker but never had to face this type of verbal barrage. I still want to see Alex get his rematch but I'm a big fan of Rumble, too. That fight should certainly get the next title shot.

Agreed. I never want to see Bones lose though, lol. He's my favorite fighter since Roy Jones Jr.

I want to see him get knocked down and get back up. So many fighters have a tough loss and never get back up. Faber and Henderson both hit that trend recently.

The UFC isn't boxing. There isn't one dude at the top of it all with no real competition. Belfort beat Jones but was dumb enough to show mercy.

I know. I just get real enjoyment watching Jones fight. I can't explain it. There's a few others too, but Jones is by far my favorite.
