shrader
Always. That's too bad. I kind of wish they had done 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 for the subway series. That would have been interesting.
LabattBlue
I know the Royals are the ultimate underdog(no playoffs in 29 years, small market, etc...), but for some reason I still want the Giants to win. They just seem like a team that is easy to root for with clutch players(Posey, Pence, Sandoval, etc...), a great stadium, and a chance for a mini-dynasties(this would be 3 in 5 years if they win). That being said, I have been a Cardinals fan since I was a kid in the 60's.
LGR4GM
Todd Gurley gets suspended 4 games for signing autographs. Jameis Winston... gets 1/2 game for sexual assault, stealing, drug use, and yelling obscenities at FSU. Good job NCAA, glad to see you have your priorities straight. The NCAA does not regulate the personal lives of it's players. It is not called upon to do so, that's up to the schools and conferences. The NCAA is called upon to regulate the amateur status of the players. FSU and the ACC are the bad guys here. Not the NCAA.
Hoss
Todd Gurley gets suspended 4 games for signing autographs. Jameis Winston... gets 1/2 game for sexual assault, stealing, drug use, and yelling obscenities at FSU. Good job NCAA, glad to see you have your priorities straight. The stealing is the only thing that he should have been punished for because it is the only punishable thing that was proven. The obscenities crap is just stupid. He was repeating a popular online video and, while he should be held to standards higher than most, many have done the same. The drugs havent been proven and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of college athletes doing them. That doesn't make it okay, but we're targeting Jameis because he's good and we don't like him. I'm not defending the NCAA because they deserve to be destroyed for their ridiculous hypocrisy and rules... Just saying that Winston has become a whipping boy for a broken system. Not his fault the system blows. Edited October 29, 2014 by Tankalicious

LastPommerFan
No, but it could, and it chooses to focus on autographs instead. The universities would never allow it. ######, several conferences don't even mandate drug/PED testing.
LabattBlue
The Royals winning the WS would have been a great story. What Madison Bumgarner did is even a better story. Unbelievable.

I'm really going to try and get to see him in Pittsburgh next season. 5-0 in 4 world series starts. 1 total earned run in 36 WS innings pitched (.55 WHIP) Those numbers are sick for a single series. He's done it in 3.

LabattBlue
Just watched the Cubs press conference introducing Joe Maddon as their new manager. I know he had a lot of success in Tampa, but didn't know much else about him. After watching the press conference, I'd love to see him bring a WS championship to Cubs fans. I love how the guy showed up in jeans, and a casual button down shirt(not tucked in). LOL. He has a great sense of humor, seems to be a straight shooter, and hopefully a great asset to the Cubs. They have a ton of young talent, and hopefully he can mold them into a winner over the next few years.

I hope he does win a WS in Chicago; I'd love to watch something that historical. Plus, maybe then Bartman can walk outside again Edited November 3, 2014 by WildCard

shrader
I don't know what's worse, the fact that he did that or that it took so long for Oregon to pick up the ball. There are 3 different Oregon players that you can see in the camera shot when he drops the ball. They all should have seen exactly what happened, but none of them pick it up. I wonder where the guy who actually did was when the ball was dropped.

WildCard
Hopefully Lester tomorrow :) You're a Sox fan?? Ah ink, come on. I used to be a big Yankees fan, but it gets really boring watching a team that just buys players every offseason. At this point I just follow players I like; Bryce Harper and the Nationals, A's because I like how they build teams, and the Braves because Maddux/Glavin/Smoltz were awesome. Still, there will always be that part of me that says ###### the Red Sox :nana: If they get Lester too, that's 2 huge postseason players at 2 big gaps for them. Plus they win that Lester for Cespedes trade which is huge. They'll be a powerhouse in the East...again :death:

If they keep Cespedes, they could roll out 5 30 HR bats. Also rumor of some of the kids to Philly for Hamels.

I just want to see the first game in an NL park where Ortiz is at first and Sandoval at 3rd. That will be the largest corners of the infield the world has ever seen. They need to somehow get Prince Fielder at 2nd and some other random fat guy at short. Maybe they can bring back Colon to pitch for that game.
