Yale was up 8-5 midway though the 3rd.

 

Malloy only had a 0.481 save percentage heading into this one but made about 15 saves. He was out of his mind.

 

He needed to be because Williams only win 4 faceoffs all game & Yale got the ball on 1 of those. Yale was 0-fer on the man up.

 

Yale's Reeves had 4 goals & 2 helpers.

 

Very entertaining game. Towson is next up.

Bouncyball's scheduling drives me mad.  There is no way that they should be starting the conference finals on one side while the previous round is still underway in the other conference.  How do they ever get things to sync up in that league?

Primarily though really great play at the X & good offensive play being just good enough to overcome so-so long poles & poor goaltending.

 

Yesterday, Williams couldn't do squat but Malloy was unreal. He made 2 leg saves he had no business making.

 

Throw on 3 mental errors by Yale - attacking the net w/ 19 seconds left in Q1 rather than waiting another 6-7 resulted in a buzzer beater @ the other end when the shot resulted in a turn over. The goalie putting a pass right to Cuse for an uncontested goal in the 3rd. And Shay not taking a timeout to set a play w/ 1 minute left. Turned it over w/out a shot & Cuse ran out the clock.

 

If Malloy's play will stay at this level & Williams can get back to form, they'll be extremely tough to beat. If Williams's play stays at this level & Malloy goes back to form, Towson will crush them.

The NBA is a bigger joke than the NHL.  How could they allow a 1st seed and a team playing in the ECF win the lottery to draft 1st overall as a result of a trade in 2013 with the last place team?  It just boggles the mind.

If there was ever a reason for a program to get the death penalty, this is it.

 

Also, jail time for Briles and anyone else who ignored or participated in any of that. I'm guessing most of the video evidence has been scuttled but a savvy enough person could find some traces of data left.

Well, Penn State set the bar pretty high for the death penalty, as far as I'm concerned. Baylor seems determined to try and one up them.
