Thank you Mr. Pegula, for all that you do.

You hand out hope like it was candy to children.

Continue on, we here in Western New York are fortunate to have an individual such as yourself that we can call team owner, neighbor, community leader through vision and to act upon those traits from your core.

Thank you once again!

This whole Harborcenter facility should greatly improve the gameday experience for Sabres fans and out-of-towners alike. I mean currently the 'go to' pregame location is Pearl Street which is a pretty lengthy walk from the arena especially on the cold January nights. With the new bar/restaurant across the street and the continued development of the cobblestone streets, there are quickly multiple new options emerging for the game day experience.

Me likey. :)

It'll be nice to have Pearl Street not be SRO on game nights if you get there late.

that too... my mother and her s/o visited for the sabres game on 1/18 and we went to Pearl St. at like 4pm. It was already pretty busy and by the time we left for the game at 6:30, it was like fighting through a concert crowd. The masses are begging for more game day restaurant options!

Sabres Press Release: BIRON JOINS HARBORCENTER ACADEMY OF HOCKEY STAFF

HARBORCENTER VP and Director of the Academy of Hockey Kevyn Adams today announced that Marty Biron has joined the Academy of Hockey coaching staff, and will serve as its Director of Goaltending.

“Marty Biron has had success at every level of hockey,” Adams said. “He was a first-round pick in the NHL, fostered that talent through a tremendous work ethic, and over many years developed an understanding of hockey that’s second to none. With the benefit of all of his accomplishments, Marty is well-positioned to provide world class instruction that will make the HARBORCENTER Academy of Hockey a destination for goaltenders.”

Can I take classes with Marty? Please?

Doesn't hurt that Marty was one of the more well liked goaltenders that played for the blue and gold (or in his case black and red ) I'm sure there are plenty of teens and twenty somethings out there that saw Biron as a sabre and have dreams of taking classes from him.

I get your point but the train is only a block away. And free.

Yuck.

Getting on that packed train a stop away from the arena? That thing is usually already packed to capacity by the time it leaves UB South.

Also for the out of town fan, this option isn't exactly the most obvious.

HarborCenter News from yesterday: IMPACT SPORTS PERFORMANCE COMING TO HARBORCENTER

HARBORCENTER President John R. Koelmel today announced that IMPACT Sports Performance will operate HARBORCENTER’s 5,000 square foot, high performance off-ice training facility.

“We are excited to partner with Jason Jerome and IMPACT Sports Performance to provide elite level training for athletes at HARBORCENTER,” Koelmel said. “IMPACT is on the cutting edge of athletic training, and at HARBORCENTER the training staff will work with best-in-class facilities and equipment, adjacent to the ice rinks on the sixth level, to help athletes realize their maximum potential.”

Jason Jerome founded IMPACT Sports Performance, a subsidiary of Pegula Sports and Entertainment, in Boca Raton, Florida, and quickly established his facility as one of the top training destinations for high-level athletes at both the professional and amateur levels. Jerome obtained a masters degree in sports medicine from the University of Miami and served as a core-training specialist for the Hurricane athletic department, working with numerous alumni from the NFL and Major League Baseball. His responsibilities included rehabilitating Olympic, professional and collegiate athletes in various sports including football, track & field, hockey and volleyball. In recent years, Jerome has spent time with different organizations in the South Florida area providing program implementation, injury prevention protocols and biomechanical evaluations for athletes of all ages and backgrounds. He will re-locate to Buffalo this spring.

I can take Biron or leave him, but when he answered Brian Koziol's question about how much he must have learned by playing with two of the best goalies of their era — Lundqvist and Miller —by talking exclusively about Dom, he scored a few points with me.

silly question from Koziol if that was the question.....Biron was already a 3 year NHL vet when them guys arrived.

It makes a lot of sense if the scouting combine were to come to Buffalo. BUFFALO IS THE IDEAL CENTRAL LOCATION (less than 8 hour drive) with Toronto, and Ottawa to the north, Detroit and Chicago to the West, Pittsburgh and Columbus to south, Boston, New Jersey and New York to the East. It also will have the best facilities available for that type of event.

It would be wise for the NHL to take advantage of this opportunity.
