deluca67 Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 This is the kind of post that might, in "Deadwood" parlance, get you invited to go f--- yourself. This is why you top my list of favorite posters. nfreeman Tom Webster Labatt Blue GoDD Eleven Nobody SwampD
Taro T Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 This is why you top my list of favorite posters. nfreeman Tom Webster Labatt Blue GoDD Eleven Nobody SwampD :( (I was going to go w/ the  but noticed you didn't rate Weave, PA, or Chz either. ;))
K-9 Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I just wanted to say to everyone here, "Don't hate me just because I'm beautiful." GO SABRES!!!
LGR4GM Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 'sigh' I saw the whole thread but didn't really see an opportunity to comment. Its the offseason and since the harassment has been in good fun, carry on. 522 views for me. Hey, at least you got in. thats what she said...
nfreeman Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 DeLuca -- thanks for the kind words. I'm certainly on board with the list of posters you mentioned, but I also think there are a lot of really good posters here. There is a ton of both good hockey insight and general knowledge on literature, food, booze, internet, etc. And I laugh out loud at least once a day. Any list I would make would omit too many good posters, so I will just encourage everyone to keep it coming.

That Aud Smell Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 :( (I was going to go w/ the  but noticed you didn't rate Weave, PA, or Chz either. ;)) ha. i would venture this: a regular poster's list of favorite posters will say as much, if not more, about who they really are than their own content does.
shrader Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 How about a list of least favorite posters? That's far more entertaining. Anyone who about a week into membership here decides to attack the quality of the board automatically jumps up pretty high on that one.
Eleven Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 That Farrah Fawcett poster was pretty awesome.

Anyone who about a week into membership here decides to attack the quality of the board automatically jumps up pretty high on that one. good point. but, as PA once stated, we tend to work those posters out of the community like the skin does a splinter -- so those folks tend to assimilate into the community (in one way, shape, or form) or, failing that, fade into bolivia.
Weave Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 That Farrah Fawcett poster was pretty awesome. Who here had a Farrah poster in their bedroom as a teen? *raises hand*
Eleven Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Who here had a Farrah poster in their bedroom as a teen? *raises hand* Where's the other one?
shrader Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Who here had a Farrah poster in their bedroom as a teen? *raises hand* This has me wondering what my generations version of that Farrah poster would be. Maybe a Pam Anderson baywatch thing or something. My wall was full of sports logos so I really have no idea.
SwampD Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Who here had a Farrah poster in their bedroom as a teen? *raises hand* I was a little after that. Had the St. Pauli girl poster.
Eleven Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 The one with the hair? yep I was a little after that. Had the St. Pauli girl poster. I was a little after that, too. I remember the poster as iconic of the 70s. Something I'd see in older cousins' bedrooms or in someone's garage.
nfreeman Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Who here had a Farrah poster in their bedroom as a teen? *raises hand* With the red bathing suit and the 64-tooth smile?
inkman Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 That Farrah Fawcett poster was pretty awesome. I had the locklear pink bikini. http://cdn.hometheaterforum.com/7/74/74a69e12_htf_imgcache_16550.jpeg
Weave Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 With the red bathing suit and the 64-tooth smile? 'ats the one. I seem to recal that it looks like the temp was a little chilly on the day of the shoot, ifyaknowhatImean.
inkman Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 The Elle MacPherson SI photo shoot was a must have as well. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2lK7XS2mT8g/T1tFneW8YeI/AAAAAAAAEUk/b8NMw4GXjZ8/s1600/Elle_Macpherson_0814_22_49.jpg
SwampD Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I had the locklear pink bikini. http://cdn.hometheat...ache_16550.jpeg That's Heather Thomas.
inkman Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 That's Heather Thomas. Right you are. I should know better than to trust google. http://ll-media.tmz.com/2008/03/14/0314_heather_thomas_launch_ap-1.jpg
MattPie Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I fully understand it's the offseason. I'm stuck in PA and going through hell because this place is unbelievably boring (although today I met about 20 people from Orchard Park which is about 3 hours from where I am). I need something to entertain myself, just noting that there isn't much speculation on these boards. And about that other thread... nobody has mentioned the Philly visit yet. Or answered the question I posted in the seperate thread. That was the point of the thread. Hmm, 3 hours from OP in PA? So you're a PA Sabre Fan? :) :) As for Doan? He didn't visit Philly apparently, just met with Philly folks in NYC. FWIW, the 'correct' procedure there is to find the Doan thread, and post something like, "Anyone have any thoughts about Doan visiting Philly?" in it. So far, my experience on this board has been disappointing. I love to talk and debate the Sabres. But so far, there is no debate. Just conversation and stray thoughts. Doesn't seem to be much speculation or anything like that around here. Just spitting news and giving generic responses to it. Maybe you're confusing generic responses with thoughtful conversation. Most of the posters here have been here for awhile, and we're "past" trying to prove how clever we are with speculation (unless it's about Lindy, Darcy, or player personalities in private). We've "been there, done that" where we're kinda sick of discussing ridiculous scenarios. I'm kinda impressed with this off-season as there haven't been any serious posts about how we should trade Adam, Brennen, Gerbe, and a pick to Pitts for Malkin. Hell, we had a politics and religion thread open for days before it degraded into name-calling. If you're looking for an experience akin to hanging with friends discussing the Sabres, this is it. If you want the more traditional internet flame-fest, there's probably other places to look.
nfreeman Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 We should trade Adam, Brennen, Gerbe, and a pick to Pitts for Malkin. Well, now that you mention it... I'm pleased to say that last summer's worst perpetrator of those trade "ideas" has developed some perspective. Of course, it seems like the Rangers have essentially pulled off a trade like that for Nash, so what the heck do I know?
