Eleven Posted October 17, 2017 Report Posted October 17, 2017 Ronaldo levels it at 1 before the half. Saw the kick but missed the foul that led to it. Was it a good call?
ubkev Posted October 17, 2017 Report Posted October 17, 2017 Saw the kick but missed the foul that led to it. Was it a good call? Yeah. The Spurs defender took Kroos out in the box. He got all feet and no ball.
Eleven Posted October 17, 2017 Report Posted October 17, 2017 Yeah. The Spurs defender took Kroos out in the box. He got all feet and no ball. Saw the replay finally. Plain as day.
Sabel79 Posted October 20, 2017 Report Posted October 20, 2017 Lady ref running the center in the Bundesliga game right now. First time I've seen that at this high of a level. Impressive.
Iron Crotch Posted October 20, 2017 Report Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) Lady ref running the center in the Bundesliga game right now. First time I've seen that at this high of a level. Impressive. American teenager Weston McKennie is on the bench for Schalke to start this game. He started the last few games, so there is a chance he comes in as a second half sub. EDIT: this ref also did the Women's World Cup final game (USA v. Japan) Edited October 20, 2017 by Potato
Iron Crotch Posted October 21, 2017 Report Posted October 21, 2017 USA down 2-0 early against England in the Quarterfinals of the U-17 World Cup. We're actually getting a lot of chances. But, not much shooting luck (shot off the crossbar, etc.). And, the USA defense looks a little suspect.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 23, 2017 Author Report Posted October 23, 2017 72,000 in Atlanta see TFC eclipse the single season points record that has stood for almost 20 years. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/mls/toronto-fc-atlanta-united-fc-1.4366382 TFC is a very good side and their little guy can 'bend it' almost as well as Beckham. He has scored many goals from a free kick. His match tying goal yesterday was fantastic. Just over the outreached hand of the goalie and nudged the bar and dropped in. GO TFC!!
Sabel79 Posted October 23, 2017 Report Posted October 23, 2017 Koeman....OUT. Not particularly suprising. That team is awful. And it really shouldn't be.
That Aud Smell Posted October 23, 2017 Report Posted October 23, 2017 Koeman....OUT. Not particularly suprising. That team is awful. And it really shouldn't be. Welcome news, but an awful surprise based on what I thought would happen as of mid-August. We have an Evertonian in the home, and he's been super bummed about how things have gone -- especially given the talent that was introduced to the squad.
darksabre Posted October 23, 2017 Report Posted October 23, 2017 They just...can't score. It's incredible.
Huckleberry Posted October 23, 2017 Report Posted October 23, 2017 U-17 World Cup knockout stages going on right now. USA is playing Paraguay. Strong USA team with many good attacking players (Weah, Sargent, Carlton, Akinola). You'll see several of these guys on the men's national team in 5-6 years. Son of george Weah ?
Iron Crotch Posted October 23, 2017 Report Posted October 23, 2017 Arguably the most impressive US player at the U-17 World Cup, Andrew Carlton, plays for the Atlanta United academy team. I can't imagine some European clubs won't be after him in the near future.

I was excited about Koeman, too. Lukaku is a big loss, and is nearly impossible to replace, but they should be far better than they have been.

darksabre Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017  I'm wondering if Everton is just going to promote from within.
Eleven Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017 It's like Lieutenant Dangle on a soccer field.
That Aud Smell Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017 I frickin love Ted Lasso. Also, I just heard that Arena stepped down from the USMNT. Thankful for that, I guess. But I think bigger changes are in order.

Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 24, 2017 Author Report Posted October 24, 2017 Everton's new coach:  Wales? Is that another country? How many countries in this country?
SwampD Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017 (edited) Wales? Is that another country? How many countries in this country? Even funnier was that the guy answered "4". Edited October 24, 2017 by SwampD
Sabel79 Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017 Even funnier was that the guy answered "4". Which is technically correct.
SwampD Posted October 24, 2017 Report Posted October 24, 2017 Which is technically correct. That's why it's funny.

I can't help but read that as "The Football Club", like TPC in 1984.
