Two or less Posted May 10, 2015 Report Posted May 10, 2015 Yes; they finished third in the Championship so they likely would be the favorite. I don't know that home/away matters that much. They seem to win away about as often as they do at Carrow Road. True, but Ispwich is 7-7-9 on the road, as opposed to 15-5-3 at home.
WildCard Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Anyone else watching Champion's League Real Madrid vs. Juventus?
Kruppstahl Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 Anyone else watching Champion's League Real Madrid vs. Juventus? Oh yes. Well I was. I didn't even know there was this soccer thread here! So who will win? Barcelona or Juventus? My European team is Juventus, so I'm biased...but actually I think Barcelona will probably win in the Final. I see a lot of English Premiership stuff here. Anyone follow the Bundesliga or Serie A? In the Bundesliga I love to hate Bayern and cheer for Borussia Dortmund.

In the Bundesliga I love to hate Bayern and cheer for Borussia Dortmund. There are many here that follow Bundesliga and it seems that most hate Bayern and love Dortmund. The posting has not been to great in this thread lately. I started it and will also start threads to discuss major tournaments ... WC and Euro. I don't really follow Champions League that much. In Halifax we really only get news about MLS ( :w00t: ) and EPL. My favourite footballer is Edin Džeko, so I follow the Bosnian National Team and Manchester City.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Since my favourite team is the German national team, I love both Bayern and Dortmund........Though it can be painful at times.
Eleven Posted May 25, 2015 Report Posted May 25, 2015 Well, I'll get to see my Canaries on TV next season. They won.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted May 25, 2015 Author Report Posted May 25, 2015 Well, I'll get to see my Canaries on TV next season. They won. Great news. I'm happy for the team and their fans ... including you. I have always liked the Canaries. I will follow them more closely next season.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted May 27, 2015 Author Report Posted May 27, 2015 Will this development lead to anything substantial ... http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/fifa-soccer-officials-arrested-as-u-s-swiss-investigate-corruption-1.3088927 ... I have my doubts. In other news my favourite EPL side is in Toronto for a friendly against TFC. MLS is trying so desperately to become relevant. I hope, at least, that the many football fans in TO will be entertained by a real football team.
That Aud Smell Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Well, I'll get to see my Canaries on TV next season. They won. I've been following the EPL lightly for ~8 years, closely for the last 3. I had to look up who this club was. How do you come to be a Norwich City fan, exactly? I had initially thought this was Elton John's club, and figured you for a Crocodile Rock guy. Edit: Fook me. They've been up in the premier league within the last few years. Maybe I only really started paying attention to the entire table in the last couple of years. Anyhoo: I welcome Norwich City to the EPL with open arms if it means more of this sort of stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_8JLkwzpd0 Will this development lead to anything substantial ... http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/fifa-soccer-officials-arrested-as-u-s-swiss-investigate-corruption-1.3088927 ... I have my doubts. This is the big one. Little Boy has just been dropped on FIFA. Pressure form social media, particularly on the bribe-paying sponsors will force a lot of people out. They need to save face and will use their sponsorship money to become the heroes, when just minutes before they were a part of the schemes.

This very well may be his Alamo. ----- In an update to the CBC story I linked Michel Platini has officially requested that Blatter step down as head of FIFA. This could be a coup and if Platini becomes head of FIFA I will not be happy.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted May 31, 2015 Author Report Posted May 31, 2015 FIFA is the biggest joke ever. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/sepp-blatter-wins-re-election-as-fifa-president-1.3093091 No kidding he was re-elected. It's the friggin' Mafia. Al least the Canadian delegation, apparently, did not vote for him. Of course, the head of Canadian Football was one of the guys, if I recall correctly, arrested.

Huckleberry Posted May 31, 2015 Report Posted May 31, 2015 (edited) France voted for him i hear. Most of europe , middle east, South America voted against. but he has asia, africa and concacaf mostly in his pocket. Fifa is at dangerous crossroad at the moment, i can see several nations stepping out. Edited May 31, 2015 by Heimdall

That Aud Smell Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 I know it's a bit of *meh* for a lot of people, but this is a big, big fookin' deal for a huge part of the sporting world. So great. Also, this re-opens the chances for the World Cup to come back to the U.S. in 2022 -- possibly even 2018 (?). If that were to happen . . .

Thing is his opponent lost the election, week later he steps down. Now new elections can be held and he can put forward a puppet of his to compete. If he had resigned before the elections that sjeik would have been fifa president now. Edited June 3, 2015 by Heimdall
