spndnchz Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 http://sabres.nhl.co...ub/schedule.htm Sabres open Oct 13th against Penguins
darksabre Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Wow, very Western Conference heavy in the first half.
LastPommerFan Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Only 11 back to back sets! 22 in 2010-2011, 21 in 2011-2012, and 11 this year!
shrader Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 My very unscientific count picked up 8 sets of back to back nights. I hope people are a bit more happy with that. There is one case where they have back to back games on the west coast, then get 4 days off to prepare for a back to back home and home set with the Flyers. That one will be tough. It's early in the season though, so they should still have plenty of legs at that point.
TrueBlueGED Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 So, if realignment gets done in the new CBA....do they still use this schedule or does it change? I'd imagine they have to use this one just due to time constraints, unless they already constructed an alternate in the event realignment gets approved.
nobody Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 7 of 1st 10 at home and 5 of last 8 at home. So the teams needs to get off to a quick start and will have a decent amount in the end if needed or to get some home cooking in before the playoffs.
TheMatrix31 Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Brutal opening 3 games, but at least it looks like the back-to-backs are significantly less this year. November 16/17 home-and-home with Philly should be fun. We play Philly 4 times in the first two months. That seems odd. Home-and-home against Boston in February. Wish they were coming to LA this year. Probably gonna have to drive down to Anaheim if I wanna see the boys. February 18 - March 10 looks like a pretty brutal stretch. All on the road, except for Nashville and NYI, and all except NYI and CAR were playoff teams this past season. Oof.
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Just checked it out and noted the drastically lower amount of back to backs myself. Very welcomed change. Is it just me or are there a lot more Sat/Sun games this season than previous years? If i remember correctly the majority of our back to backs this past season were Fri/Sat?

I only see 11 back to backs I think. Nine Sunday games, with 4 at home.
Guest Sloth Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Was already planning to fly up to Buffalo for a Bills game on October 21st. Now I can see a Sabres game on the the 20th! With realignment this schedule is gone.

CallawaySabres Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Only 7 Friday games all year, don't like that at all. I would much rather go on a Friday night than Saturday night (especially during Bills season)
LastPommerFan Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Only 7 Friday games all year, don't like that at all. I would much rather go on a Friday night than Saturday night (especially during Bills season) I think that was the trade-off for fewer back to backs. I prefer Friday games, but I'd give them up in a heartbeat if it gave even the slightest competitive advantage.
spndnchz Posted June 21, 2012 Author Report Posted June 21, 2012 Game on: Monday: 6 Tuesday: 18 Wednesday: 5 Thursday 17 Fridays 7 Sat: 20 Sundays: 9 A lot less Friday games, hence the back to back being lower.

spndnchz Posted June 21, 2012 Author Report Posted June 21, 2012 Just noticed the 3:30 home game on SuperBowl Sunday. shesh.
TheMatrix31 Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Hm....that'll take us right up to about kickoff. Might be a good thing to kill some time actually. Probably a bad idea overall though.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 ooof...... That is not a Lindy-friendly schedule the first month or so. Things could get interestin' round these parts.......
SwampD Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Just noticed the 3:30 home game on SuperBowl Sunday. shesh. That's awesome. I'd much rather watch the Sabres than the SB pregame,.. Unless the Bills are playing,... BWAAAHAHAHAAA!!
cdexchange Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 The longest roadie is only 4 games.

Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 The Habs are playing their home games in Toronto this season ... If you are already over the border...and want to sleep off the Bills tailgate at a hotel....might as well think about it.
