Still debating on Staind and Korn at Darien on the 24th. Seen Staind live before, and they put on a great show. Would like to see Korn at least once before I give concerts up. But all these new Covid #'s have me a little worried, even though I'm vaxxed!!

My wife sold her tickets to a big concert in Nashville once the spike went out and I really want to see live music, but I guess I have to wait til this latest surge dies down.... not happy about it, but given all I have seen the last year and the lack of safety in crowds I am not taking the risk.

I saw Korn at the pinnacle of Korn. Woodstock 99. Awesome!

I "saw" Staind probably around 07/08ish when they played the Showroom at Turning Stone, fully electric (which is pretty incredible considering that room is about a 200 seater) I was dealing craps that night and my table was 30 feet away, directly in front of the Showroom doors, which were opened (those doors are always closed when a show is going on.) Felt like I was inside the room. They were tight that night and Mudshovel hits different when the old ladies who just got out of the bingo hall are shuffling by.

I'd see them both again.

I'm in the same boat.  Waffled on Foo Fighters in Syracuse too and now those tickets are gone.

Just when I thought I'd be seeing live shows again too....

I ended up at so many Korn shows in the 90s lol.  I saw them at Arrow Hall with ***** and Incubus.  I completely forgot Incubus was there until I just looked up who played with them on that show.  Crazy times.

Sorry to hear that! How were Testament and Death Angel to deal with?

Great. Just like Motörhead, Walls of Jericho, Metal Church, Kamelot, Soilwork, Epica, Chthonic, and many others. I was a booker/talent buyer for almost a decade.

Celtic Frost was the worst, though.

Driving in the morning tomorrow to Grand Rapids, MI to see Dermott Kennedy, so excited to see him live, love his music!

Decided to make a week out of it and do some camping in the UP; Josh turner is playing the UP fair so I may snag some tickets to see him too.

Heard they didn’t like this song about them from S.O.D.

SOD at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury in June 1997 was the first real concert I ever went to (and yes it was awesome).

That’s awesome! I saw SOD in Oct 1999 in Philly and seen MOD about ten times.

I had a blast in Grand Rapids over the last weekend, the concert had general admission as standing room and I was 5 ft from the stage with fast pass entrance, we were all very intoxicated, as planned. I had to use the facilities but I wasn't risking leaving my prime spot to go to the bathroom.... I found a large popcorn bucket and just used that while standing there in the crowd; very inconspicuous 😂😂😂, set it down and enjoyed the rest of the show.

Just bought tickets for the Spin Doctors in Batavia tomorrow.   One of the few 90's bands I never saw in their heyday.  Was kicking myself for missing them ever since they played the 1996 Chippewa Block Party...

So I am going to Foo Fighters after all.  Wednesday in Syracuse.  Going with my son.  Took Thursday off as well for old man recuperating day.  We bought lawn ticckets so hopefully we'll be able to find less crowded spots.  Really looking forward to it.  Haven't seen a show since COVID hit.

Are they playing the fairgrounds? If so, the new venue is absolutely great. It's even better when you're watching the show drunk on a boat.

Isn't everything better when you're drunk on a boat?

Most obvious statement ever.

Foo Fighters in Syracuse last night.  What a ride!

Worked half a day, so I was up at 3:45am to go to work.  Left work at noon.  Picked up my son and some beers and headed to Syracuse.  Rained like hell the whole way.

Gates were scheduled to open at 5:30.  At 5 the rain stopped and people started lining up to get in.  The gates didn’t actually open until after 6.  Smoothest entry into a concert I’ve ever had, and this was with Covid requirements.  They had a ton of staff and had their ***** together.

Opening act (they were absolutely terrible) was over an hour late coming on stage, and when they took the stage they announced that things were delayed because the Foo Fighters jet in NYC was held do to weather.  FF was just in the air when the opening act came on.  😳

Opening band played 6-7 very forgettable songs and left the stage.  At 9:50 a police escorted limo van pulled up to the back of the stage.  Literally 2 minutes later the band ran out on stage.  No time to change, tune up, or anything.  They got out of the limo and rushed on stage.

Dave Grohl said, “we almost didn’t ***** make it.  But we made it.  Sorry for being late.”  And the band proceeded to blow the doors off the place.  They played to exactly midnight.  High energy the entire time.  What a ***** show they put on.

Easily the tightest band I’ve ever seen live.  Holy ***** were they good.

Took forever to get out of the lot after the show.  Got home at 3am.  45 minutes away from a 24hr day for this old man.  I’m shot.

The man crush continues…..

Welcome!!

Sent you a beer.

Is Genesis still a touring thing?  Are there any original members left?  Genesis was great until about 1973 and then they did Lamb on Broadway in '75 (I think) and that was it really.

Cheers, M8!

As far as I know, the only orig member not playing is Gabriel?  Phil's son is drumming (I just read somewhere that the senior Phil has difficulties even picking up the sticks so, sad about that).

I keep getting this vision where the arena lights go dark, and the acoustic riff to Salisbury Hill starts, out walks Peter Gabriel and the crowd goes WILD!!!!

My two fav Genesis songs are Keep it Dark and I Know What I Like in Your Wardrobe. I like the electronica elements they added when Gabriel went solo.

I'm a bit of a synth nut (fav band being Tubeway Army) so the post Peter Gabriel catalogue I think is swell, as well...
