Weave Posted December 20, 2024 Author Report Posted December 20, 2024 This concert season seems to be starting out better than last season so far. Dream Theater in March Static-X in June and Queensryche in June too. Now hopefully some really big acts start announcing tours stopping nearby. 2 Quote

TheAud Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 Tonight, Billy Strings in Denver with my two oldest kids who are flying in from Buffalo. Tomorrow, Billy Strings again with my kids. Sunday, Billy Strings floor General Admission by myself, post Bills game. A 3-fer. 1 Quote
shrader Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 I have back to back Pearl Jam shows coming up in Raleigh in May. I’ll be right up front in the floor for the first one and in the lower bowl for the second. … unless they decide to cancel again like they did 5 or 6 years ago when I had floor seats. 2 1 Quote
TheAud Posted January 28 Report Posted January 28 Billy Strings was excellent. 72 different songs over 3 nights. Nights 1 and 2 they sold every ticket except the 300 level behind the stage, estimated crowds approaching 21,000 each night. The Sunday night show didn't have the 360 degrees aspect nor the upper deck, so probably more like 14,000. I have rarely heard a crowd cheer for such an extended period of time after songs as at these shows. And Billy sat in with a country singer at a bar on Thursday night and volunteered at the Denver Mission on Saturday. Just an awesome dude. Got my annual Red Rocks Tedeschi Trucks doubleheader (Aug 1 and 2) tickets today, along with a set in Detroit to see not only TTB but one of my other favorites, Gov't' Mule, as the opener. Seeing them both in one night is a bucket list item I didn't know would ever happen. Trying to focus on good things after the Bills game this past Sunday... Quote
ska-T Palmtown Posted January 28 Report Posted January 28 Apparently I am going to go see NIN in August. Quote

rickshaw Posted February 3 Report Posted February 3 Seeing AC/DC in Vancouver April 26 and Vegas 30th. Shows 18 and 19 seeing the boys. Sadly with all the turmoil the Vegas trip will be the last trip down south until we aren’t treated like the enemy instead of closest ally. Quote

It’s sold out. For better or for worse, I’m seeing most auditorium shows where people just stay seated. I agree three hours is a long time, but it’s hard for me to rock out sitting down. Quote

Yeah, I am kind of expecting a sit down show. My assumption is this is the kind of show you just listen to the band. Quote

The band was super tight. And noone sat. Everyone was up and moving. The set the chose was great. Lots of heavy in the music selections. They played 3 songs from their new album. Very heavy and dark. Loved it. Got home quite late. My calves ache, lol. Its gonna be a nap day. 1 1 Quote

TheAud Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago Week before last I went to MSG for consecutive nights of "The Brothers"; i.e. the remaining Allman Brothers Band members with a few all-star types added in. They played one show with almost the same crew in March 2020 the day before Covid shut everything down. The 2020 concert was one of the best I had ever seen and the two this year exceeded them. With two nights they were able to expand the catalog and relax a bit more and have fun. I've seen Derek Trucks 18 times now in various settings and he was the most inventive and energetic I have ever seen. I saw him smile as many times in two nights as the prior 16. Same with Warren Haynes, actually. Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic) was on drums in the Butch Trucks slot in 2020 but this time it was Joe Russo. This made a big difference as well in my opinion as their styles are completely different and Russo seemed to feed off the guitars and keyboards in a really positive way for the overall sound. Check Leavell was excellent as usual. Oteil Burbridge played both nights and then fly to Vegas and played at the Sphere the next three nights. Quite the band. There are quite a few clips on YouTube if interested. Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago I saw Gang of Four on their farewell tour, which is also the 45th anniversary of their album "Entertainment." They played the entire album as an opening set, then another set of songs from the second and third albums "Solid Gold" and "Land of the Free." It's weird seeing "punks" who are now collecting pensions but it was still worth seeing. I also spend the last two weekends binging on Coachella streams on YouTube. Quote
