SDS Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/114-boston-signing-players-left-right/ The summer/fall of 2005 is probably the greatest monument to fan overreaction. Arguably one of the best teams the Sabres ever had was routinely crapped upon all the way into the spring.
deluca67 Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 http://forums.sabres...ers-left-right/ The summer/fall of 2005 is probably the greatest monument to fan overreaction. Arguably one of the best teams the Sabres ever had was routinely crapped upon all the way into the spring. I never claimed to have coined the phrase. I'm sure it was used a lot more than this one thread before I started to use it regularly.
Weave Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 I got a good chuckle out of this post. Darcy's standing at the prom with his hands in his pockets, and the only girls left are the catchers from the softball team.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 I used to like when you could post as a guest. This way it was the message being sent and not the messenger. The only reason I ended up with Dwight Drane was because it was the first crappy player that came to mind when we had to register. As far as that year being exciting, the defining moment was at a game the first few weeks of the season, and the Sabres were thumping Boston after like 13 powerplays, and my friend turned to me and said, "Looks like building a team of P####s finally paid off." I think in the end that was a fair assesment given the drastic rules changes for about 1 1/2 years.
