So does every other team in the NHL, they've lost 1 game so far. utterly incredible.

The excuse of every loser, including the Sabres. Refs may not be brilliant but they aren't the reason the Kings are stampeding the league. Their offense has woken up and they have Jonathan 'unbeatable' Quick in net. Combined with good coaching they will be difficult to stop.

yeah i know the kings are good ya limey i was just sayin the refs were GARBAGE too.

I'm sure their the only reason the Kings have won almost 3 series having lost one game.

Of course not, all a coach does is open the door.

Everyone knows that.

You know darn well it's not the coaches job to open the door. It's not even the coaches job to motivate the players to open the door themselves. If a player isn't motivated to open his own door he shouldn't be in the league. I've said for years this team has lacked door openers.

Lifted from Monday 14 May Peter King MMQ article:

"

Why the NHL playoffs rock ... Margins of victory in the Rangers' 14 playoff games thus far: 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, and 1 goal."

LA is hot. What a team. They play a very smart, hard game without any of the BS. It looks like they're the Cup winner this year. And it looks like the Sabres have a loooooonnnng way to go to match that kind of a game.

I didn't pay much attention to them during the regular season, but if they have been playing this way all along, there's hope yet for the NHL. If they can somehow get other teams to play that kind of game, hockey would be better off.

If LA or NYR win, it keeps the pattern of winning the SC after starting the season in Europe the last few seasons..

Well, the Sabres did their part in keeping the pattern alive of a team missing the playoffs after starting in Europe.

Darcy traded the glass away for more water.

or

Lindy coached the glass so now it is only sand.

The battle between Brodeur and Lundqvist has been outstanding. Lundqvist stoned Kovalchuk on several point blank opportunities. Lundqvist single handily keep the Rangers in the game until they were finally able to breakthrough on Martin Brodeur. I would love to see this series go seven.

WOW. if anyone says the refs arent crap in the LA PHOE SERIES, they are LYING. the kings are gettin the MAJORITY of the BULLSPIT calls and they STILL cant score. LA must be using their CRACK money to pay off these refs...

oh and QUICK is not impenetrabal, he has weaknesses as we ALL can see. anyway phoenix is FOR SURE out playing LA today, despite LA sucking the refs #@###. LA isnt even really playin bad, but PHOENIX is just countering their every action.

I'll tell you this... if PHOENIX plays how they did yesterday for the rest of the series, we might have a HUGE COMEBACK on our hands...

LET'S DO THIS PHOENIX!

that was a desperation game, the same thing you saw from Vancouver in their only win against the Kings. I really don't see PHX maintaining that level of play.

and seriously, not every game is a result of the refs. Take the blinders off. yeesh.

If anything that game was an example of refs being awful in both directions. The whistles sort of went away after the first period when some really awful penalties were called. I bet both coaches were none too happy and the refs were informed of this.

now that I can agree with, but saying that the refs were one sided is a little bias...I thought they were pretty even in what calls they did make, but I definitely do agree that they swallowed the whistles after a while.

Devils taking it to the Rangers offensively. Who would have thought we'd see NJ be a speed team?

As to the first point, this is the kind of thing I expected to see this series.

Regarding the second point, I definitely never saw it coming. Think maybe it's because they see the end of the road for Brodeur and they have nothing in the pipeline, so they're thinking they need to change up their style to compete in the near future?

I would agree with you on that and the bringing in Kovalchuck essentially proves it. The defense first Devils of old wouldn't have made that play.
