darksabre Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 None of this is relevant to the fact that Shanahan screwed up.
SwampD Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 None of this is relevant to the fact that Shanahan screwed up. One game is fine.
fan2456 Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 None of this is relevant to the fact that Shanahan screwed up. Yea ur right. Screw ups by NHL management is an institution. Lamenting it is a waste of time. They are a minor sport in the US because of it. As a border state, we love the game.
deluca67 Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 One game is fine. It should have been a fine only.
SwampD Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 It should have been a fine only. I would have been okay with that as well, but they are definitely coming down harder this year. I still blame the Crying Rangers.
Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 if he aint hurt, then fine him only.
darksabre Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 One game is fine. For Giroux, yes. One game for Lucic way back when might have been a nice gesture. Maybe I should have been more clear about what I was referring to as the screw up.
Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 shanahan doesnt like miller i guess.
Iron Crotch Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Oh, Joel Ward... what are you thinking?! Power play goal by the Rangers with 6 seconds left to tie it.
millbank Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 they go into overtime,..... Rangers still on powerplay
Iron Crotch Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Does everyone else still have the Rangers game on NBC Sports? ... ah, I see they put the Preds - Coyotes game on CNBC. Not in high def though.
OverPowerYou Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Yup... Another Rangers game 5 that involves a GTG in the dying seconds of the third.
Iron Crotch Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Predators are going out with a whimper. I was hoping to go to a Game 6 on Wednesday night, but it doesn't look like it'll happen.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Yup... Another Rangers game 5 that involves a GTG in the dying seconds of the third. Great! Maybe they'll let Callahan and Richards walk for nothing next year! Predators are going out with a whimper. I was hoping to go to a Game 6 on Wednesday night, but it doesn't look like it'll happen. Good for the Sabres draft position at least.....
Iron Crotch Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Good for the Sabres draft position at least..... Yeah. Plus, Goose hasn't been very good in the playoffs. It was a steal getting a first back for him. Preds have outplayed the Coyotes this game (as they did in Game 1), but can't buy a break. Coyotes get a couple of good chances and put them both in. Such is the playoffs...

Definitely a lot of teams proving that defense-first is not a good model. A good mixture seems to be the ticket.
Iron Crotch Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Definitely a lot of teams proving that defense-first is not a good model. A good mixture seems to be the ticket. I think the Coyotes are more of a defense-first team than the Preds... especially in this series. The Preds were 8th in the league in scoring this year and have more scoring depth up front than the Coyotes. But Smith is hotter than Rinne and IMHO that seems to be the big difference. BTW - I'm sure it has been mentioned somewhere on this board, but the league would sure love a NY versus LA final!

Iron Crotch Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 At this point I'd put my money on L.A. Hard to believe the Kings were the 8th seed. They've been the most dominant team thus far, taking out the #1 and #2 seeds in the West with relative ease. The Johnson for Carter trade is looking really good for them so far.
darksabre Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Smith just came two inches from getting an empty net goal. This is the year of the upset for sure. What a crazy playoffs!
