darksabre Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Yeah, he only lost to another coach hired mid-season for a floundering team......... ;) So you agree that switching coaches is essentially a coin flip and mostly irrelevant to a teams success? Because that's what the evidence shows.
KD in CT Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Watching the Flyers lose is always a good way to spend an evening.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 So you agree that switching coaches is essentially a coin flip and mostly irrelevant to a teams success? Because that's what the evidence shows. Sutter/Hunter/Hitchcock/DeBoer......3 hired midseason, 1 offseason......Torts....Sabres property, won a Cup.....Phoenix....handcuffed in bankruptcy........Philly...led by Briere and massive sweeping player changes after beating Sabres last year.......Nashville.......Status Quo. Looks more like an 8 sided die with a 12.5% support factor for Darcy & Co.
deluca67 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 So you agree that switching coaches is essentially a coin flip and mostly irrelevant to a teams success? Because that's what the evidence shows. A coin flip is at least a 50/50 chance. Post Hasek, Status Quo has made the playoffs 40% of the time. I'll take the 10% increase in chance.
millbank Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 It might not be the ultimate success, but getting your team to be one of the final eight teams standing for most franchises has to be viewed as success, Given the support Lindy seems to have had the Sabres reached the final eight, statues would be erected of him....
spndnchz Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Giroux with a Shanny hearing today. Classic hit to the head. Suspension coming IMO. By the way, anyone watch the Flyers game in 3D? Was at a friends who had it. Freakin' cool!

Suspension coming IMO. http://youtu.be/px7X8lQ7azY By the way, anyone watch the Flyers game in 3D? Was at a friends who had it. Freakin' cool! I am amazed watching the Devils. They look bigger, faster and meaner than the Flyers. Who'd thunk it..
qwksndmonster Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 I am amazed watching the Devils. They look bigger, faster and meaner than the Flyers. Who'd thunk it.. It's been so fun to watch the way the Devils control the puck in the offensive zone. They Flyers just looked pathetic in the third period yesterday. :D  :D
TrueBlueGED Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Can we officially call Giroux one of the bigger whiners in the league? I love his game, but man, he complains to the officials about everything...and then he lets it affect his play. I distinctly remember one sequence in the Pittsburgh series where he was upset at the refs, and immediately after the next faceoff he clearly went after a Pittbsurgh player and got called for boarding. Now this hit happens, where he was chirping away at the ref because Brodeur played the puck outside the trapezoid and proceeds to take a run at Zubrus (I have no idea if he was trying to hit his head, but I think there's little doubt he wanted to light the guy up).
fan2456 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Briere's playoff plus minus is now at -6, second worst to Hartnell's -7 on the Flyers team. As gifted as he is offensively, there are holes in his game.
apuszczalowski Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 theyll get one though. Might be as early as today. the Biggest problem with Phoenix losing money had to do with the horrible lease they signed to build the arena, and the location of the arena. Building it in Glendale was a bad spot, and the lease had almost all of the money going to the City of Glendale, with the team having very little revenue from anything in the arena. The new owner (former executive of the Sharks) has been able to renegotiate the lease with Glendale in order to make it more friendly for the team to make money
darksabre Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Giroux suspended one game. In other news, Milan Lucic still not suspended for hit on Miller.
Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Giroux suspended one game. In other news, Milan Lucic still not suspended for hit on Miller. maybe the league doesnt like miller too like me. HAHA
fan2456 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Giroux suspended one game. In other news, Milan Lucic still not suspended for hit on Miller. In really old news, no one for the Sabres manned up at the time their goalie was run. Even a simple five guys piling on Lucic and no punches thrown would have saved face for the team that DR built. They showed their metal and how poorly they are built....... LOL

TheChimp Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 "After four games (actually almost five in playing time) have produced a total margin of five goals, it's increasingly clear that there isn't enough difference in talent between the Capitals and Rangers to decide this series. So the officials are stepping up..." http://www.cbc.ca/sp...-in-game-4.html
deluca67 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Nice try by Kovalchuk! http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=81&id=176647&navid=DL|NHL|home
Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Meaning? meaning they dont like him perhaps? i wouldnt like a whiner on my team either.
fan2456 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Yea, he's a whiner. But their is code a in hockey to protect your goalie. I see how you can read it as hating him and I've often thought that way.. But, hard to argue they are an entire team molded like their GM. SOFT and whiney!

What dream world do you live in? Yes the coach has to go, and my posts tell you I agree. But half the roster must go also.
