RazielSabre Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 damn that rinne he played like a beast yesterday. oh well nashville deserved that win... come on phoenix get the next one! Am I the only one kind of reminded by the 99 Sabres with this years Preds? I agree with you. We are so better off without him. Shame we lost Tim Connolly though, his perseverance and on ice presence is sorely missed along with his points and clutch time abilities.
carpandean Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 announcer says Briere 50 playoff goals, 37 since he left Buffalo . Buffalo entire team playoff goal total since Briere left is 33. Yeah, but the Sabres have 33G in 13GP (2.54 GPG), while Danny has 37G in 66GP (0.56 GPG). :P Funny thing, since Danny left, Vanek has 7G in 10GP (0.70 GPG), but he's on a team that can't get him to more playoff games (no, I don't think he'd actually keep up the same pace over 66GP, but they'd probably still be pretty good.)
Marvelo Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Ballsy move by the Preds to suspend Radulov and Kosteitsyn for one game, maybe more. That team truly believes in togetherness. Too bad the Bills didn't suspend Kelly and Thomas for the Redskins Super Bowl for drinking the night before. Maybe we woulda had a chance.
SDS Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 ????? 15 pts in 16 games = stunk? No one seems to be praising him for his point total these days - it is all about his goal scoring prowess. He had 3 of those goals in his last playoff season with us in 3 series. BFD.
TrueBlueGED Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Well it's nice to see the Blues come crashing back down to Earth. And I'm really surprised at the job the Devils have managed against the Flyers, just really impressive. Looks like it was another good night for those pesky franchise goaltenders :P

Makes sense given the Preds much improved defensive effort in Game 3. I'll try to post something from the game tonight (if I'm sober enough to do so)!

At the very least I think I'd make them sit the rest of this series.
Marvelo Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 btw, It's going to be a Kings-Rangers finals with the Kings taking it in 6.
X. Benedict Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Kovalchuk with a nice 3 point night to lead the Devils. And what about those Kings. Darryl Sutter is doing an amazing job. He has the Kings on a high at just the right time. I'm wondering about that......I think they could win it (LA) ......adding Carter and M. Richards was a huge gamble for Dean Lombardi.
SDS Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 I'm wondering about that......I think they could win it (LA) ......adding Carter and M. Richards was a huge gamble for Dean Lombardi. You have to root for LA just for the Philly meltdown.
X. Benedict Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 You have to root for LA just for the Philly meltdown. I hate Philly enough to do that. Besides that, rooting for Phoenix has all the passion of cheering for a financial sector in an indexed fund you are not invested in.
shrader Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 At this point, I wonder who is going to want to make a play at Radulov this offseason. He's poison at this point. Nashville will qualify him to retain his rights, but after that, he's not arbitration eligible, so he has very little leverage. Time to head back to Russia again?

Probably nobody needs Nashville to win this series more than Radulov in those terms.
Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 phoenix is going to EMBARASS (i dont know how to spell that) nashville tonight. phoenix is hungry. 5-0 phoenix wins. RISE FROM YOUR GRAVES
Iron Crotch Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 During his first stint in Nashville, Radulov was knicknamed "Borat" by some of his teammates for his odd worldviews. Supposedly, the guys he didn't get along with are no longer on the roster (Arnott, etc.). I agree that Rads is a big contract risk since he could bolt back to the KHL at any time. But there is no denying his offensive talent.

So unless an NHL team is willing to bet that kind of money on a risky situation, I think he's going back regardless.

Which really makes you wonder why he decided to go and potentially throw it all away earlier this week. What a fool.

What a fool. I think this explains it pretty well. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/why-did-khl-allow-alex-radulov-leave-nashville-211640021.html
nobody Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 I think this explains it pretty well. http://sports.yahoo....-211640021.html Good marketing for the KHL if he ends up with the Cup. He'll sit out another game and then he'll be back in the lineup. If he scores a few more goals he'll be golden.
Iron Crotch Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 With the Preds behind 1-0 and struggling offensively, not having A. Kotistyn and Radulov may hurt...
TrueBlueGED Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 With the Preds behind 1-0 and struggling offensively, not having A. Kotistyn and Radulov may hurt... Maybe. Unless they'd be down 2-0 already due to giveaways and lackluster defensive effort :P
Iron Crotch Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Crowd is way weaker here in Nashville tonight... not nearly as much energy in the building as Wednesday...
Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 phoenix is going to EMBARASS (i dont know how to spell that) nashville tonight. phoenix is hungry. 5-0 phoenix wins. RISE FROM YOUR GRAVES close enough.
deluca67 Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Congrats to the Yotes and their fans. Hopefully this run is just what they need to make the NHL a success in Phoenix.
Iron Crotch Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Hard to understand why the Preds gave up a first round pick for Goose, but didn't use him for any important faceoffs during the third period. Legwand took and lost most of the importnat draws. And, of course, the Preds gave up picks for A. Kostitsyn but didn't dress him. Odd....
