darksabre Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 And there it is my friends. Rags win. I love playoff hockey.
millbank Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 49 shots for Rangers.... 46 for Washington..... if you a fan of either team, imagine a game you remember a lifetime.... suppose it goes for all watching...
LGR4GM Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 What a game. Was rooting for the Rags cuz the Caps piss me off. Gaborik from Richards... the big guns earning their money. If the rags make the finals against the kings... GOALTENDING BATTLE OF DEATH!!!!!
OverPowerYou Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Home teams never win playoff games that last deep into the night

If the rags make the finals against the kings... GOALTENDING BATTLE OF DEATH!!!!! There we be about 5 goals scored throughout the entire series, would be great though. As long as Philly and NJD aren't in the final I'm happy.
wjag Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 I'm just not as excited for these second round matchups as I was for the first round... Philly-Devils UGH... Caps-Rangers UGH.. Kings-Blues UGH... Yotes-Preds (best of the bunch, but still UGH)
That Aud Smell Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Home teams never win playoff games that last deep into the night dave hannan begs to differ. (maybe that was your point.)
X. Benedict Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 I have no idea what his Corsi number is.....just shake my head how blocking shots is looked down upon in statistical review. He probably saved the game 2 or 3 times. A blocked shot should improve your Corsi. The shot didn't get through, therefore....higher Corsi.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 A blocked shot should improve your Corsi. The shot didn't get through, therefore....higher Corsi. Not from what I understand. It's an "opportunity against" while you are on the ice. That's ok. Main point is Callahan is everything you could ever ask for out of a player, especially in his package.

Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 damn that rinne he played like a beast yesterday. oh well nashville deserved that win... come on phoenix get the next one!

Main point is Callahan is everything you could ever ask for out of a player, especially in his package. Actually you are right. I forgot that blocked shots is included. It is composite....shots on + shots missed + shots blocked. Generally the higher your Corsi the more time in puck possession, or time spent in the offensive zone. Love Callahan's game myself. I always wonder how long his body will hold out.
Randall Flagg Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 I find it hilarious that the sports illustrated issue a couple of weeks ago (which had a playoff preview of about half of a paragraph) picked two first round losers to win their respective conferences. This is kind of late, but I was rereading the issue, and it made me laugh.
Randall Flagg Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Devils with 2 goals in 20 seconds, after flyers had a 1 -0 lead. There appears to be fans in attendance at this game in new jersey, as well. Isn't that strange.
TheChimp Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Round 2 is cool in 2 odd ways: 1. When you look at the NHL.com page showing the matchups, all 4 matchups are between teams with uniquely similar logos. The first matchup has the only 2 teams with pure pictograph logos, the second are the only 2 animal logos, the third are the only 2 teams with the team name, and the 4th matchup is between the only 2 teams with the first letter of the location of the team as the logo. Any other way these teams could have matched up would have ruined that symmetry. Weird. 2. The teams that were eliminated in the East in Round 1 are the exact teams who made it to Round 2 in the West, and obviously vice versa. Yeah I'm bored so what?
millbank Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 announcer says Briere 50 playoff goals, 37 since he left Buffalo . Buffalo entire team playoff goal total since Briere left is 33.

SDS Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 announcer says Briere 50 playoff goals, 37 since he left Buffalo . Buffalo entire team playoff goal total since Briere left is 33. The other way to say that is that he only had 13 in Buffalo.
TheChimp Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 The other way to say that is that he only had 13 in Buffalo. I agree with you. We are so better off without him.
darksabre Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Man, how ###### does Brian Elliot feel right now? "Sorry guys, I'm not Halak :("
darksabre Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Mike Richards with the Gordie Howe Hatty. I don't think anyone would have predicted that.
TheChimp Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 St. Louis needs one more piece...muhuhuhuhahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
deluca67 Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 Kovalchuk with a nice 3 point night to lead the Devils. And what about those Kings. Darryl Sutter is doing an amazing job. He has the Kings on a high at just the right time.
Weave Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 he stunk in his final playoff year for us though. ????? 15 pts in 16 games = stunk?
