A little more on suspended Nashville players. Turns out they both were out a bar at 4:00 am night before game. Bar 1 hr away from team location. Interesting to read former players tweets on matter. Modano on twitter, "you guys got all summer to party and get drunk, I am sure your team mates are thrilled."

Well, that certainly explains why they were complete garbage in the game. Kudos to the Preds for suspending them--it was absolutely the right move and should send a strong message to the team.

I don't know if it's in the "vault" or not, but Pete Weber was on GR discussing this at around 6 tonight. Pretty cool that in the middle of a playoff run, and with the international hockey media likely all over this, that Pete found time for his alma mater.

I still want him to succeed RJ; I know it's unlikely.

It's not up yet. However, I listened to a portion of the Marek v. Wyshynski podcast today, and Jeff Marek had an interesting snippet. He said he talked to a few Preds players when the whole "Radulov might be coming back!" thing was starting to break, and they told him flat out that they did not want him back, wanted nothing to do with him. These players naturally said all of the right things in the media, but with this recent event you have to wonder what the feeling in the locker room is now.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some angst in the locker room about Radulov's return at his own leisure. I bet a number of them are thinking "we got here without him, we can get the job done without him."

How could they be out at a bar at 4am when bars close at 2am in Arizona?

On another note, Trotz is a stickler for short shifts... 30-40 seconds per player... and these two guys regularly stay out on the ice for a minute or more, which causes some of the lazy defensive play that we've seen in this series. Preds will go with Craig Smith, Matt Halischuk and/or Jordin Tootoo tonight. I expect them to be a lot better defensively.

Your source is a twitter post.

no its the home team announcer. Its watching them on various television sports news programs with the words coming out of their mouths, coming out of the mouths of various team mates. its from vertually countless news commentators connected with team and this story. With respect don't understand your contention on this. :) .

Two of their bigger "deadline" additions this year. I wonder how they feel about those moves now after having to deal with idiocy like this.

And it's funny. Nashville has been influenced quite a bit by the US college system. Nearly the entire front office spent time at that level. Now with suspensions due to curfew violations, they really do resemble a college program.

Apparently most teams have curfews during the playoffs, 1st I'd heard of it I have to admit.

It's kind of embarrassing that adults even need a curfew, but I'm not the least bit surprised that teams have them in place.

From down here in Nashville (I am a Preds season ticket holder), the report is that they were drinking not that they broke curfew (although that may have also happened). John Shannon of Sportsnet is the only one reporting they were seen out at 4am in Glendale.

The information comes from hundreds of sources. Sometimes one does not see forest for the trees.... Not going to debate with you on this further.

...Show me any source other than John Shannon and I'll shut the heck up. (I think you will find that the 4am story originated from John and John alone)

The same way you can be at a bar in Roch till 4 when they close at 2. A lot of places will stay open but close their doors so that no one else can come in. I'm not sure of the legality of it, but it's not uncommon.

This is completely off topic but I just applied for a job at UT Knoxville, if I get it I am def going to a bunch of preds games.

also, either way they broke curfew if thats 11pm or 4am it doesnt really matter. Its a complete lack of respect for their teammates and I havent heard 1 of those teammates say the punishment was over the top.

Long story short, they're idiots.

I have many friends at UT Knoxville. Great school. Football games are crazy there. Less than a 3 hour drive from Nashville, so definitely come to some Preds games. When I moved here I thought the hockey/game day environment in a place like Nashville would be awful (how could southerners know anything about hockey?), but I am quite surprised by the passion and knowledge of the game down here.

The Preds do some things I though were "gimicky" at first but now I really like. They have a band stage set up above the Zamboni entrance and have live music between periods. And, since a ton of musicians live here, they regularly have big names play between periods (e.g. the singer from Kansas, Alice Cooper, Carrier Underwood, Big & Rich, many others). They also have some college-style chants that they do throughout the game (some are kind of stupid) that keep the crowd in the action. The one thing they do here that I rarely see in Buffalo is when the team isn't playing well, the crowd actually cheers more to try and pick the team up... I think in many other places you tend to see the opposite - when the team isn't playing well the crowd gets quieter or boos. They also do a standing ovation throughout an entire television timeout during the third period of every game (something I haven't seen anywhere).

That said, the Preds will always be #2 to the Sabres for me and when Buffalo was here in December I was donning full Sabres gear!

I don't know what's gotten into the Caps and Rags, but their game tonight is awesome. Tons of action, lots of intensity.

It's the best game I've seen since the second round started.
