rickshaw Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Not gonna lie, I love the Bruins Losing But if that's my team I'm pissed that that goal counts. Maybe it's not a penalty but you have to let the goalie have a chance to make the save. Knuble bumped mr wonderful just enough. But again, no tears for the Bruins losing.

I believe there's a word for this...oh yes....karma. With all the crap the Bruins get away with on a consistent basis, it's a fitting end to their season.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Wait, wait, wait...hold on....Milan Lucic, Destroyer of Worlds, didn't single-handedly smite the perpetually soft Caps and carry his team? Damn, there goes that theory. Edit: To expand...Boston out-hit Washington 36-23 tonight and lost. (Yes, DeLuca, I'm poking you :P ) Guess what 3 of 6 coaches in the 2nd round have in common? They all were hired midseason. If i was a glutten for punishment, I'd bring up some of the old quotes from some of our esteemed members about Hunter vs. Ruff
Pville29 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 At first, i was mad that the caps made the playoffs, but now i'm so happy they beat the bruins cause as much as i like the sabres, they wouldn't be able to beat the bruins or rangers.

How about Sutter..and Hitchcock? How about Dineen and Martin and DeBoer? Again....."Why would you fire Lindy Ruff when there is nobody to replace him?"
Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 damn it. i wanted the bears to win. cant stand ovechkin.
spndnchz Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Fortunately the teams that I wanted to lose lost. Unfortunately the teams I don't want to win are still playing.
qwksndmonster Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 How about Sutter..and Hitchcock? How about Dineen and Martin and DeBoer? Again....."Why would you fire Lindy Ruff when there is nobody to replace him?" The second half of our season went pretty well compared to the first half. I'm not sure what a replacement could have done better to propel this team into the playoffs. The Sabres just didn't have the players this year.
Taro T Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Chaffing at the bit. WTF. He also used a word w/ more syllables than I'd expect to normally hear him say, stupendous (?), superlative (?), can't remember which it was. Combine that w/ the earlier quoted water under the dam and I figure he either got one of those word/phrase of the day calendars and just can't quite get them right, or his B's being on the ropes / out has got him flustered.

That's hilarious and probably both are true. He finally used the Barnes & Noble gift card he'd been holding since Christmas and was reading his new word/phrase calendar while he stepped out to the men's room. Bruins are out so he's speechless and is just sputtering out fragments of whatever he can remember. Fool on me once, shame on me twice. Fool on me twice, that's a bird with two stones!

Their seasons went down the Drain.
darksabre Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Looks like once again Tim Thomas won't be going to the White House. Or Disney World.
JJFIVEOH Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Guess what some of the esteemed "genius" coaches like Julien, Babcock, Quenneville and Bylsma have in common? Their seasons went down the Drain. Same goes for some of these high $$ "elite" goaltenders! Torts and Lundqvist are next?
RazielSabre Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Boston are out, I couldn't be happier right now.
wjag Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Shut it off after 3, glad to see Washington won. I'm more than surprised though. I thought Boston all but had that game the way they were outplaying the Caps after they tied it up.
deluca67 Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Versteeg had a nice season, no doubt about it. But he also got 19:55 of ice time, while Leino averaged 15:55. Versteeg got 231 minutes of PP time this season, while Leino got 75. Now, obviously a big part of Leino's lower totals was due to his own failure, and I'm not about to assume Versteeg would have failed in the same fashion, but I also don't think Versteeg would have gotten the same ice time here he did in Florida, which would mitigate his positive impact. Would the Sabres have been better? Maybe. Much better? Probably not. Are you suggesting that if Leino played more his numbers would be better? I think the 15:55 and 75 of pp time was more than enough evidence to prove that it just isn't so. Versteeg is a better player than Leino hands down. It's really not even close. And to say that a player like Versteeg wouldn't greatly improve the Sabres, especially in place of the complete waste of a roster spot in Leino is curious to say the least. When Hunter gets the Caps to the Conference Finals, by all means, feel free to compare his first year coaching to Ruff's first year coaching. Hunter is doing it without Hasek. If you want to compare Ruff against other coaches it is best to start with the year after Hasek left for accuracy sake. I have never understood your admiration for Versteeg......... Stafford's numbers (playing 1st line), but much less physical, nice speed with a tricky wrister.....not a bad player, but not particularly strong on the puck either. He was a nice right-hander for Campbell to pass to on the PP...but beyond that... Versteeg is far more consistent than Stafford. I see Versteeg as a difference maker, Stafford is just another player, IMO. would be a shame win on this power play. I thought the exact same thing. That was a horrible call, an official allowing the crowd to make the call with 3 minutes left in a 3rd period of game 7. The Ref should not be allowed to work any additional playoff games.
RazielSabre Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Hunter is doing it without Hasek. If you want to compare Ruff against other coaches it is best to start with the year after Hasek left for accuracy sake. But he has Ovi so that makes the comparison fair, one star player each. Infact the Caps are a more skilled team than the 99 Sabres.
spndnchz Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 All 7 games in the series were decided by one goal. First time in NHL history. Good morning good afternoon and good night John Walton!

Fire Lindy Ruff NOW Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Red Herring alert. wait a minute.............. thes guys have all won CUPS! CUPS CUPS CUPS! not big lindy though.
LastPommerFan Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Hunter is doing it without Hasek. But with Ovechkin.
