I see zero reason for any team to jump in the Nash sweepstakes until Parise's fate is decided. Why give up all the assets for Nash when you can just sign Parise?

No argument here, but being NY the Rangers may decide they want the bigger "name" in Nash.

Of course they could sign Parise and not give up anyone off the roster, but for next year they have 14 players signed and approx $16.5M in cap space. If you assume $7.5M for Parise, that leaves the NYR with approx $9M to sign 10 players. I'm not well versed in the intricacies of the cap, but it seems like it could end up costing them assets anyway.

Almost 3. Not looking good at all for Chi.

had to google Bulleit  , loss to Toronto enough to make a person reach for the hard stuff eh.... :o . What a time of year following so many hockey playoff games. NHL, Jr. A, AHL , local teams. :)

The drive through the snow was enough to make me reach for the hard stuff! Rochester was fine, as was Buffalo, but as soon as I was more than 5 miles from a lake, there was snow flying into my windshield. Weird.

Hayes with a fiver against Chicago. This is very bad news for them.

white knuckle driving not any fun at all. particularly work week night. Nice for you to have evening with excellent people though. Black Hawks looked totally deflated.

And now, they are, in fact, totally deflated. 3-0 with power play time left.

EDIT: 4.

yikes Phoenix had better take it easy on them. Black Hawk fans could get a little upset. Kind of like Italian soccer game, where outraged fans demanded because of poor play, players remove their team sweaters. Players obliged, as to no rile fans anymore.....

Who knew there were so many people from Vancouver in Italy?

Anyway. This Hawks third period looks a lot like the Sabres' Game 7 last year. I've read that the Hawks put in a solid effort in the first two periods; I'll trust that, but it is tough to believe considering what I've seen in the last 20.

phoenix wins Stanley Cup, Gary Bettman has to present Trophy to himself.... imagine the competition as to who will drive the moving van at end of parade.....

Mike Smith with quote of the playoffs so far. The interviewer is asking the 'Yotes goalie what went through his head during the first-period barrage, and is interrupted by the Chicago goal horn, which was blown because the Hawks had gathered at center ice to salute their fans. When the interview resumed, the interviewer repeated the question, "what was going through your head?" Smith: "Not that sound."

Excellent, brilliant quote.

Gilbert Brule with a goal and an assist. Had a goal last game too. Weren't we talking about picking Brule off waivers from EDM earlier this year? Oh he's a center, right. :wallbash:

:w00t: That's awesome

Gotta say. Great job by the 'Yotes. Glad to see them advance. Chicago just seemed to start to fall apart there.

Wow. That's some incredible timing right there.

I was listening to WGR this morning and they were speculating on possible SC Finals match-ups. It was said that if it wound up being Phoenix and Florida in the Finals, it would be like the end of the world as we know it. I don't disagree. Oh, one other scenario: LA and Philly in the Finals. Carter, Gagne and Richards skating around the Wells Fargo/Wachovia/CoreStates/flavor of the month Arena with the Cup held high. Yeah, I could live with that...

That would stink for 2 reasons.

1. Filly in the Finals, 'nough said.

2. That stupid commercial w/ the guy in the ice suddenly becomes prophetic. (At least the playoff version of it.)
