darksabre Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 I got freaking roasted for this back in the day: http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/983-luongo-turns-down-6myr/ If only Scott knew how prophetic "well almost" would turn out to be.
Punch Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Why what happened? I dont even have the internet radio going today... Prolific parade of Pittsburgh Penguins sent packing to the penalty box. The officiating has been spotty, at best. Possibly overdoing it to curtail any shenanigans. Fleury has been bad, Bryzgalov even worse, but the Pens are really pressing hard. Check out the box score at NHL.com if you can. Better yet, race to the nearest television.
darksabre Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 This series has officially gotten ridiculous. Anyone else sitting here wondering if Pitt can hang onto a 5 goal lead? Rinaldo should be getting a call from Mr. Shanahan after that silliness.
TheChimp Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 This series has officially gotten ridiculous. Anyone else sitting here wondering if Pitt can hang onto a 5 goal lead? ...or better, build on it? Yes. Holy Jesus.
darksabre Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 ...or better, build on it? Yes. Holy Jesus. I don't even know why we're playing the third period. Just call it a night.
Punch Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 I want to see one of these games hit 20 goals, total.
TheChimp Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 ...annnnnd 10. Pittsburgh wants to make up for all the goals scored against them the first three games, obviously. They could do it! This Pittsburgh play-by-play guy on their radio station is deadpan as hell.
bunomatic Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 ...annnnnd 10. Pittsburgh wants to make up for all the goals scored against them the first three games, obviously. They could do it! The way the Flyers D and goaltending are playing I could see the pens come back and win this series.
TheChimp Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 The way the Flyers D and goaltending are playing I could see the pens come back and win this series. I'd laugh so hard.
darksabre Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 The way the Flyers D and goaltending are playing I could see the pens come back and win this series. I would love to see that. The anguish of Flyers fans is sweet as honey.
Punch Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 The way the Flyers D and goaltending are playing I could see the pens come back and win this series. I practically expect it.
TheChimp Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 23-22 goals for each team now. Philly with an empty-netter to give them the one-goal edge. I missed basically this whole game. Are we expecting any Flyers to be suspended from anything tonight? Because that would be awesome.
spndnchz Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 I would love to see that. The anguish of Flyers fans is sweet as honey. Forget that. A Philly - Boston series would be cool.
TrueBlueGED Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 The way the Flyers D and goaltending are playing I could see the pens come back and win this series. If I had any faith at all in Fleury I could see it. But honestly this seems like a "WE'RE NOT ###### GETTING SWEPT" effort by Pittsburgh to me. I fully expect Philly to wrap it up next game. If not, they may be in trouble.

Pittsburgh really didn't even have to try. Philly just sorta...let them have it. Extremely weird hockey.
TrueBlueGED Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 I don't know about that. Pittsburgh really didn't even have to try. Philly just sorta...let them have it. Extremely weird hockey. Fair enough. I've been watching the Rags and Sens because I expected Pittsburgh to roll over and die. Maybe Philly also expected them to roll over and die, hence the lack of killer instinct?
SabreFX Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Jonathan Toews' post-game comments after the Hossa hit are very telling. He was asked something along the lines of "do you think Torres will be suspended?" and Toews basically shrugged and said "who knows?" The players themselves have no idea how the league's discipline works now and they're scratching their heads same as we are.

darksabre Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Rinaldo got kicked out for something ? I missed that. Only started watching after the 2nd. I believe the call was "acting like a douche"
spndnchz Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Rinaldo got kicked out for something ? I missed that. Only started watching after the 2nd. It was interesting how long the referees chose to think that out. They got help from the linesman too. When all was said and done it was even five on five for both sides Renaldo crosschecks penguins holds the stick yada yada. I give it to the referees that they kept control of the game.
darksabre Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Now for the game I've been waiting for, Kings/Nucks. I fully expect Vancouver to win this.
TheChimp Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Now for the game I've been waiting for, Kings/Nucks. I fully expect Vancouver to win this. Are both Sedins in?
TrueBlueGED Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Philly-Pittsburgh is officially the highest scoring first 4 games of a series in playoff history. Who needs goaltending? Or team defense? Just score baby! Are both Sedins in? Yessir.
darksabre Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Are both Sedins in? Now we find out the truth :P I just hope they didn't rush Daniel back too soon.
TrueBlueGED Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Now we find out the truth :P I just hope they didn't rush Daniel back too soon. I was thinking the same thing. Turris beats Lundqvist high glove side in OT, series 2-2 headed back to the Gaaahhden.
