rickshaw Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 What happened to Kesler? I was always under the impression he played a pretty tough and focused game, anytime I've watched Vancouver over the past few years. And is there anything in particular that makes you think he may be moved, or just a hunch? If the coach gets fired, then he probably won't go anywhere. It's a hunch. Kesler 'can' play hard and tough but anytime he does that he ruins it by flopping and whining. He's not a good linemate and by that I mean he doesn't make them better. He's a good player but he needs to play that way all the time. Kes VS Nashville last year in playoffs Kes would be untradeable he was that good. He's regressed greatly this year.
TrueBlueGED Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 My brain says one more period of this Saint Louis game. My body says "F that, you're going to bed." My conscience is divided between effectiveness at work tomorrow and enjoying life while I can. Tough situation. I should have put a TV in the bedroom, dammit! Enjoying life while you can often leads to a shorter life, hence less possibility to enjoy...but of course, if the years it chops off are decrepit misery, then it could be a positive. Maybe it's a stretch, but I just can't picture a healthy Kesler getting his lunch handed to him by Mike Richards. I had read that he's not the easiest guy in the world to play with, but the flopping/whining stuff I hadn't really heard before.

You're a lot of fun at parties, aren't ya, TrueBlue? Anyway. Probably going to bed--but let me ask you this, Mr. Philosopher--is it healthier to be so work-concerned as opposed to staying up for an extra 45 mins of hockey? I want citations to journals. On my desk by Wednesday morning.

On my desk by Wednesday morning. Haha, my fun-ness at parties died with graduate school. I'd feel bad about it, but none of my friends can come close to what they used to do either, so it's not just me. I guess 26 is the new 50. Who knew? The journal of ABC news had an extensive study on the long-term consequences of not getting 8 hours of sleep on a regular basis....and by journal and extensive study, I mean about a 3 minute segment on TV.

Oh, FFS, if that's the best you have to go on, good Lord, don't put a Ph.D. near it! Now I'm watching just to spite 20/20 or whatever on ABC. We all know that 8 hours is ideal. It takes me 10 to get 8 though. ===================================================================================================== You know, this late-night team on NBCS (I have no idea who it is) is better than anyone on NBC or NBCS that I've heard all season. There's still a ways to go for these guys (stop it with the stats during the play, but at least it's not stories), but they're ok.
TrueBlueGED Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 By definition, any broadcast that doesn't include Pierre McGuire telling me where every player in the game played squirt hockey is an upgrade.

I think it's the San Jose feed--- if you notice, there's a CSN logo at the top left.

If that's the case (no more if, the NBC intermission guy just confirmed it), these guys are the anti-Jack Edwards. There's not a lot of bias, and there's not a lot of editorial nonsense, either. Anyway. I know I'm not lasting for a third. Goodnight.
darksabre Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 Pretty solid performance by the Blues so far. Sharks fans gotta be a little irritated. Can't believe Brian Elliott. Who would have thought?

Who would have thought? You could be a successful goaltender on that team. Seriously though, he's been really good. He had a decent start to his career before falling off the map. He's only 27 though, could just be entering his prime.

Some people don't recover from things like that. Glad to see he survived.

darksabre Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 San Jose comes very close to making another comeback game...but falls short. Good game St. Louis.

dEnnis the Menace Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 Shaw suspended three games for his hit on the Coyotes netminder Backstrom has his hearing today for the x-check he delivered at the end of the game.
shrader Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 Shaw suspended three games for his hit on the Coyotes netminder Ok, let's compare. Shaw: Illegal hit to head. No previous history. No injury to Smith. 3 games Hagelin: Illegal hit to head. No previous history. Injury to Alfredsson. 3 games. Carkner: Illegal in every way (including punches to head). Previous history of the exact same incident. No injury to Boyle. 1 game. More of that wonderful Shanny consistency.

He states in the video that Smith stayed in the game and suffered no apparent injury, so they can't just go back and change their mind on that one.

They also said Miller stayed in the game with no apparent injury, but look at the fall out afterwards.
