Jochen Hecht should never play again.

There's an age difference between Hecht and Connolly, too. Hecht is 35 and I'd really hate to see things end the wrong way for him. My post, at least, has nothing to do with whether he fits with the team or makes too much money, and everything to do with wanting to see the guy survive his hockey career well.

While I understand you thought given all the stuff we have heard about regarding concussions lately and it may in fact be the case for Hecht. Yet, if he wants to play and is cleared I think it is arrogant of any of us to sit in judgement. Now if you think his skill set doesn't fit the Sabres, that is one thing. But Jochen has always give his best and is in my mind a very good defender and forechecker and not a bad set up center on a third line when healthy and he is very physical and the Sabres cannot get enough of that.

Still, one would think Hecht is giving this issue careful consideration, but unless you are a socialist... everyone should have a chance to make one's own decision and it "ain't" us on this board. Just my opinion.
