Hm, what are the scenarios if we win and the Capitals win? Have to root for a win for us Saturday and a Florida loss to Carolina?

 

If the Caps beat Florida in regulation and the Sabres win then the Sabres can get in with either a Florida regulation loss or a Capitals L of any variety (reg./OT/SO) as long as the Sabres win Saturday.

We need to either win and Florida lose, or we need to be 1 point better than Washington.

Yes but Florida has to lose in regulation.

It would also be possible if, after the above bolded part, the Sabres lose in OT/SO and the Caps lose in regulation on Saturday.

 

Let's just win'em both!
