darksabre Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 I couldn't tell you the last time I started a GDT, but game 81 is as good a time as any. A Buffalo win tonight and a Washington loss to Florida will put us in 8th with a two point lead and one game remaining. Tyler Myers and Christian Ehrhoff out of the lineup is detrimental to put it mildly. This game will require defensive effort from all players, not just Leo and Sulzer. We look to Foligno to continue his hot streak, and for our stars to bring us the scoring we need. All eyes on Derek Roy, Thomas Vanek, and Jason Pominville. Philly is weak in net. Strike quick and often and we will be one step closer to achieving the improbable. I believe. Have a little faith baby, have a little faith. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuStsFW4EmQ

bunomatic Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 I have to say it. Never...give...up...hope GO SABRES !
neverenough Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 I'm just pissed i have to record the game while i'm at work. This is a game i want to watch live with cold beer and kickass people. Go Sabres!
Corp000085 Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Game 7. Hope this turns out a little rosier than the last Game 7 against the Flyers!
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Need to shoot early and often and not let a subpar goalie look like an allstar . Miller needs to get back to form of a few weeks back.
carpandean Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Sabres cannot clinch (though, they can get close), but they can be clinched. Make game 82 matter!!
FolignosJock Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 I will protect our Foligno and allow him to play incredibly yet again, I havent been washed since our hot streak started I will give us all the luck we need!!!!!
CallawaySabres Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 My buddy just emailed me from Boston saying Chara and company are resting tonight. Why would they not rest on Saturday? Oh well, time to show up Sabes!

NowDoYouBelieve Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Last place after game 48. Now it's game 81 and the first time they can be eliminated. At the very least, I thought it would be over a lot sooner than this. Just win!
That Aud Smell Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 i've been off the grid for a variety of reasons. just checking in to say: LET'S GO BUFFALO!
Derrico Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Myers and the Hoff our big pieces on our D. However, the entire second half of the season the team plays well and goes on a run when I've counted them out. The Rangers are good but I think we'd have a fighting chance atleast getting Christian back for that. In short, let's just get the win!
dEnnis the Menace Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 I pray that tonight's game against Philly turns out like the second to last game of our season last year, which was...against Philly. I believe! LET'S DO THIS!
LastPommerFan Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 I will protect our Foligno and allow him to play incredibly yet again, I havent been washed since our hot streak started I will give us all the luck we need!!!!! Not washing is fine, but some sort of antiseptic should be applied. We cannot afford a staph infection to Foligno's staff.
tiredsounds Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 It's very important the Sabres don't get complacent tonight. In their last ten games, the flyers have given up the first goal eight times. and in seven of those eight games, they've given up the first two or more goals. Point being, get pucks on net. Score a couple, then shut the Flyers out. It's not pretty hockey, but at this point, I couldn't care less about that. The Sabres can take this one if they stick to the game plan for 60 minutes, that's all it takes. Get it done lads.

spndnchz Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Sabres morning skate at 10:30am. You can watch with the Arena cam! http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=79229
shrader Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Tyler Myers and Christian Ehrhoff out of the lineup is detrimental to put it mildly. This game will require defensive effort from all players, not just Leo and Sulzer. Not to imply that Sulzer actually put in a defensive effort last game. ;)
darksabre Posted April 5, 2012 Author Report Posted April 5, 2012 Not to imply that Sulzer actually put in a defensive effort last game. ;) Haha his pairing was good though, at least offensively.
nfreeman Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 I wish I felt confident about this game. But between the awful D they played in 2 games vs the Leafs, 1 of the worst teams in the league, and the absence of Myers and Ehrhoff, and their propensity to gladly accept and rely on built-in excuses, it's hard to be optimistic. But that's why they play the games, innit? The Sabres really, really, need Miller to be sharp tonight. I'd also like to see the defensemen and the backchecking forwards pick a Flyer and tie him up near the net, as opposed to hanging back and watching while he stuffs home a rebound. Go Sabres. Also: I hate the Flyers.
apuszczalowski Posted April 5, 2012 Report Posted April 5, 2012 Both teams will be missing some big players tonight, and both have not been playing their best the last few games. Miller will be the key to the game. If he can make up for the weaker Sabres defence tonight, and the forwards aren't intimidated by having to face Bob in net, they can win. Sometimes teams just struggle and look worse against certain teams (no matter where they are in the standings), and the leafs seem to be one that recently the Sabres haven't been able to dominate like in the past. If you watched closely how the Leafs played in front of Scrivens, they were really trying to protect him throughout the game and had atleast 3-4 players on the ice that would just bunch up in front of him and try and keep him from facing shots directly. Very rarely did they let a Sabres player just hang out in front of the net, unlike the Sabres D that would almost invite and escort the Leafs forward in front of the net, and at a few points I swear one of the D may have asked the Leafs player if they were comfortable and wanted a snack or a drink
