Derrico Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I turned the game off, just checking in now. Did I just screw up big time? You messed up HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE
Eleven Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Outstanding. For anyone who didn't listen to postgame, Foligno was asked why the ref didn't blow the whistle during the scrum, and he said "I think the ref was watching how many times I got punched in the face and was in awe." This guy is a champion. Komisarek was bludgeoning him; he was pissed before the faceoff and even more pissed that Foligno got around him after the faceoff. It was almost ridiculous that a ref's hand didn't go up, but to Hasenfratz's credit, and to the Sabres' fortune, Hasenfratz never took his eye off of that puck. I've seen the Sabres win because of bad refereeing. I've seen them lose because of bad refereeing. Tonight, that was incredibly good refereeing during the Great Scrum.
LTS Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Please allow me to be elated though I just admitted how I turned the game off.. I just watched a much longer replay of the Leopold goal and the Foligno frozen moment. You can see the puck moving, so it's not a question as to how the ref did not blow the whistle. That highlight must be saved as the goal that defines Foligno's career with the Sabres. He made it all happen. His will to get that puck... wow. You don't see that every day, week, month, year...

I can't remember a goal in recent memory when the puck was floating in the paint and the entire team was under the circles crashing. Beauty.

Eleven Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Sir, you don't appear to be sleeping :P Might have to take a pill in a few...my heart is still racing from that game!
LGR4GM Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 WOW.... just WOW... from Foligno's opening hit to the eventually OT winner from Roy that was one of the greatest games this team may have ever played!
FolignosJock Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I am freaking OUT I cant sleep, looks like gym after work tom and not at 430 I hope you guys like my new profile and my tag line above my PIC!!!!
OverPowerYou Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Two best things about the trade with Vancouver: 1. Marcus Foligno replacing Zach Kassian and moving to the NHL 2. Alex Sulzer Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought those would be the results of a trade that got the Sabres Cody Hodgson for Zach Kassian. Apparently, the hockey trade was actually Kassian and Gragnani for Sulzer, Foligno and oh by the way, the Sabres got Hodgson. I find it humorous that the best part isn't even Hodgson. It's so true.

Derrico Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Crazy game, I watched it at my buds house, lol, he is a leaf fan....... Nice. I was in close contact via social media with a bunch of leaf fans as well. Pretty sweet. No leaf fans would bet me for Saturdays game but I'm up about $60 tonight
FolignosJock Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 "Foligno was a force the entire game, by flattening one Maple Leaf player after another from the opening whistle. Foligno's hit parade began 12 seconds in with a heavy shoulder-to-shoulder hit on defenseman Carl Gunnarsson behind the Toronto net. He hit him with such force that it knocked Gunnarsson's helmet off. Gunnarsson went directly to the bench and played one more shift before leaving the game with what the Maple Leafs called an upper-body injury. Foligno also bowled over Matthew Lombardi and leveled Bozak, which led to a one-sided fight in which Foligno beat up Frattin."
Derrico Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Do the Pens have a playoff spot locked up and some of the best players in the game finally healthy? I think the circumstances are a little different. Can you seriously not just enjoy the win instead of constantly trying to defend yourself? TSC is great when they are bringing up good ideas on how to improve this team but you just lose a bunch of respect when it seems you have an agenda instead of being a Sabres fan with a different view point. It's a huge win, just enjoy it. I told my wife after the first that it's too bad we were down 3-0 after the first because the first 10 minutes of hockey were the best I've seen this team play.

Derrico Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Rayzer is required to start an early GDT for next game! Are you kidding me? As fun as this was, I just can't take the stress.....
LGR4GM Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 hands touching hands, reaching out, touching me! TOUCHING YOU!!!!!!!
NowDoYouBelieve Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Kassian: 43 GP, 10 points Foligno: 13 GP, 13 points http://youtu.be/efHCdKb5UWc With TDK in mind, is Foligno the hero Buffalo needs or the one it deserves??
nfreeman Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Future captain. Without a single doubt. Amen. That was really something. And McNabb's hit/fight was pretty nice too. The Sabres' D is not ready for prime time without the 2 top dogs, but the youngsters have heart. In the name of the father! They will need to play much better than that to win the last 2, but it's a great, great day to be alive. Go Sabres.
Taro T Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Can I get community approval to ban some posters for the night? They dont deserve to celebrate this comeback. In a thread complete with extremely entertaining posts, this may be the post of the night.

BoldBlueandGold Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Guys, I went to the game tonight and it was the BEST game i've ever been to, of any sport. I have one negative nancy comment though. As good as Sulzer was on offense tonight, his defense was a SEVERE liability
DumbPuck Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Guys, I went to the game tonight and it was the BEST game i've ever been to, of any sport. I have one negative nancy comment though. As good as Sulzer was on offense tonight, his defense was a SEVERE liability I'm pretty jealous of you having tickets for this game. My favorite undersized Sabre may be shifting towards Ennis. He made everyone else except maybe Kessel look like they were skating in quicksand. The hits early in the first were a sight to see as well. Going back to watch the replays again. I knew there was a reason I kept watching every single game this season!
