blugold43 Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 insane. i was bitching up a storm all night. i refrained from posting it just to cut everyone a reak for once. then this....i woke the whole house up....thank you sabres!
... Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Wow. This game exposed some serious, lingering issues with the team, but it also taught them they could come back from a HUGE, seemingly ever-expanding hole if they TRY and play as a TEAM.
bunomatic Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I never gave up hope. What an epic come from behind win.
LaFontaineToMogilny Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 OH MY SWEET JESUS!!! what a game! what a ###### game!!!
WanderingEye Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 toronto, your captain. dion phaneuf. Ha, it was Phaneuf. The only better person to do it would have been Komisarek.
darksabre Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Looks like I'm goin to the bar on Thursday.
biodork Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I turned the game off, just checking in now. Did I just screw up big time? Sorry to say it, but yeah, lol.

To me it just says our top defensemen mean a whole helluva lot to this team.
wonderbread Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 60 minutes. A regulation hockey game lasts 60 minutes. The Sabres don't always play the full 60, but a fan sure as hell watches the full 60. This one does that's for sure
Eleven Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Looks like I'm goin to the bar on Thursday. You're damned right, you are.
Randall Flagg Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I turned the game off, just checking in now. Did I just screw up big time? Yes , screw up indeed.
wjag Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I still can't believe they let that 11 man scrum in front of the net go on so long...
Weave Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Wow. Helluva game. Helluva game. Best part was watching Komisarek completely blow it for his team. Watching him try to intimidate Foligno on the faceoff only to have Komi b!tch out and back off when the puck goes into his corner allowing Foligno to gain the puck and initiate the play that leads to the tying goal, and Komi tries to wipe away the embarrassment by pinning Foligno down and mashing his head into the ice while the play carries on right next to him. What a jackazz. What a loser. One item that was very noticeable to me throughout the game was which players didn't back down and led the team to this victory. IMO none of them were members of "the core". "The core" seemed content to let the inevitable happen. It was the new blood that kept their legs going and kept digging. Guys like Foligno, Ennis, Sulzer (fer cryin out loud), and Tropp really seemed to keep the faith even when things looked darkest. Yeah, Roy got the GWG but he was invisible until the end. The new guys seem to be taking charge before the old guys are even gone. Bodes well for the future for sure.
Jsixspd Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 What a dramatic game and huge come-back! I was worried because I'd declared the Sabres would win, and it was looking bad late in the third. How huge was Marcus Foligno tonight!? Sabres are still alive, that's all that matters. Woo-hoo!!!
Eleven Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 It's 9:55. I have to be up by 8. A full night's sleep means drifting off by midnight. I don't think it's happening. WOW, what a game.
SabresFan526 Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I am beyond stunned. The Sabres had no right to win that game. Smart of Foligno not to drop the gloves and kick Komisarek's a$$. The goal was more important. I'm amazed the referee did not stop play because there was no way to see where the puck was on the Leopold goal. Hands down, the best part of the trade with Vancouver has been Sulzer. The dude can play hockey. I hope the Sabres re-sign him this offseason. What a win! Absolutely amazing! Way to come back from being down 3-0. That's character and that's heart and from guys like Foligno, Stafford, Ennis, Sulzer, Leopold. Absolutely no quit in these guys in particular. Now, the Sabres have to win out and hope for at least 1 loss for Washington, OTL or anything, but one loss and the Sabres win out, and they are in. Don't give up hope!
Iron Crotch Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I still can't believe they let that 11 man scrum in front of the net go on so long... I've been watching hockey since the late '70s and I can honestly say that I've never seen them let it go like that for so long without blowing the whistle. I guess the ref clearly knew where the puck was even though most of the players didn't. Amazing.
nobody Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Noticed that Lindy doesn't do hugs.... Patrick wanted one and Lindy pushed him away... Lindy was just trying not to fall off the bench!
Jsixspd Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 To me it just says our top defensemen mean a whole helluva lot to this team. Yep - the loss of Erhoff and Myers is huge. I sure hope they can come back for the Boston and Philly games.
deluca67 Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Hats off to the good people here who understand what sports are all about.... It's like people have never seen the Comeback game or Drury's Ranger series goal... Were the 'Comeback Game" and the "Drury Rangers series Goal" against teams that had already quit on the season? To compare tonights against those games is silly.
Mark from Albany Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Dammit! Gotta stay up for the replay now.
ofiba Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I still can't believe they let that 11 man scrum in front of the net go on so long... I've never seen anything like it. Somebody hit the Buffalo Wild Wings "send this game to OT" button.
