nobody Posted March 20, 2012 Report Posted March 20, 2012 Chz? What do you know? Feel free to merge this to some other thread. Buffalo Sabres @BuffaloSabres The Sabres have recalled forward Travis Turnbull on an emergency basis from Rochester (AHL). Here is the link on the Sabres page - doesn't say why. http://sabres.nhl.co...s.htm?id=623275
Tyrannustyrannus Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Hopefully its because Vanek will sit so we can have him healthy for a few games instead of having him like this for the next 9.
Weave Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Turnbull is a center right? Roy, CoHo, Ennis, or Boyes take a big hit last night?
bcsaberks Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Turnbull is a center right? Roy, CoHo, Ennis, or Boyes take a big hit last night? He hasn't been playing center in Roc. Stuart, Varone, Szczechura, Adam are there. Apparently his nickname is "The Sheriff". Pretty damn cool nickname. I hope he sees the ice, we'll miss him tomorrow night in Roc.
Rox11 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 So is Luke Adam going to forever be at the farm? IMO, he showed some good stuff, but I was never sold on his overall play.
Rico7 Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/ My guess from this is something up with Kaleta
LabattBlue Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 So is Luke Adam going to forever be at the farm? IMO, he showed some good stuff, but I was never sold on his overall play. For guys like Foligno and now Turnbull to be leap frogging Adam, there may be some attitude/maturity/work ethic issues that Lindy and Co. feel would be best addressed with an extended reality check in the AHL. Just speculation on my part.

Just speculation on my part. Maybe. If Kaleta is indeed the one who is questionable, Turnbull probably makes more sense than Adam. Even with Foligno, I don't think calling him up was a commentary on Adam so much as recognition that Foligno has simply been playing better and had earned it more.

Just speculation on my part. Or it's calling up a particular skill set to fill the hole in the lineup. Do you want Adam filling kaleta's spot or whoever it is?

Pretty damn cool nickname. I hope he sees the ice, we'll miss him tomorrow night in Roc. I hope he doesn't see the ice. Neat-o-riffic nickname aside, he's nothing more than an AHL punchiing bag and will get absolutely destroyed trying to go with the fighters in the National League.

Just speculation on my part. I think it is really more of a case of situational substitutions. If you lose a 3rd line wing....Tropp and Foligno make more sense than Adam. If Roy went down again, I think Luke would get the call.
inkman Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 I hope he doesn't see the ice. We know he not a fighter but he has the nads to drop when called for. I'm thrilled for the kid. He sells out every shift. Like I've said before he's more of a Kaleta/Nichol hybrid.
BamBam Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 After reading the articles out of Montreal it appears that Myers and some of our players may be marked men for the hit on Gomez. Ruff could be expecting a physical game and wants The Sheriff Turnbull to patrol the ice. Not a bad idea.

After the way Gomez ###### the Sabres' season when he was a Stranger, I don't have any pity for him or them. If you can't handle the physicality of the Habs, you probably don't belong in the show.

If you can't handle the physicality of the Habs, you probably don't belong in the show. Seriously. With McCormick, Weber, Tropp, Foligno, Regehr, Myers, Turnbull in the lineup I don't expect any issues. Not exactly the broad street bullies but thy can hold their own. I doubt toughness was the reason they called up Travis, otherwise Finley would be skating at forward.
Redemption City Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Intimidation isn't really Montreal's game at all. They should hand out thank you cards for getting Gomez out if their lineup.
Andrew Amerk Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Gomez can go jump in a lake. With his skates on?
JJFIVEOH Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Turnbull is a center right? Roy, CoHo, Ennis, or Boyes take a big hit last night? Boyes might still be in shock that he scored a goal last game.
Andrew Amerk Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Boyes might still be in shock that he scored a goal last game. He is gonna be more shocked when he is playing for CBJ next season.

spndnchz Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 No clues anywhere. We'll have to wait for the morning skate. Ice times last game were all the same. I'd guess sick more than injured.
apuszczalowski Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 Boyes might still be in shock that he scored a goal last game. Would shock be an Upper or Lower Body injury? With his skates on? nah, if he needs skates he can find Avery's when he is in the water
Guest Posted March 21, 2012 Report Posted March 21, 2012 He is gonna be more shocked when he is playing for the CBJ farm team next season. Fixed it
