Eleven Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 Please. For the love of everything holy and nice. Please, GET STAFFORD OFF OF MY TEAM!
Robviously Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I remember how some fans were raging that Kassian got sent to Vancouver for Hodgson. I can see why their rage is justified to this day. Well, if it's any consolation, Kassian hasn't done anything in Vancouver yet either. In 7 games, he has 1 goal (against us) and 1 assist. And he lost his first fight there.
Marvelo Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Take Robin the Boy Wonder off the play by play. The experiment is over.
thesportsbuff Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Staff played alright tonight, he and Ennis were wheeling & dealing early on. He's just the new Tim Connolly that everyone blames every loss on even tho most everyone else played just as bad if not worse than him.
Robviously Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Please. For the love of everything holy and nice. Please, GET STAFFORD OFF OF MY TEAM! After the Gaustad trade, Darcy will be holding out for at least 2 first rounders for him. We'll be trading him at the deadline in his next contract year. Three years from now.

And he lost his first fight there. Not really, it's still 2 more pts in three less games for Kass who hasn't been in the NHL the entire year like Hodgson. I was really hoping he would have scored in the shootout to give him a little confidence, but he misses the net by a good foot. This is a supposed future above average NHLer and he misses the net from 15 feet out?

CallawaySabres Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Uhh yea, umm....this team just doesn't have it this year. It just doesn't feel like much is going on there. The bills just adapted an identity for the first time in forever and Sabes are in dire need to get one this Summer.

Jsixspd Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Yeah, it was basically trade one non-performing player for another. Yet Darcy was hailed as a 'genius'. Darcy has one of the highest payrolls in the NHL - and they're fighting just to squeak into a playoff spot. What does that tell us about Regier? Injuries are a lame excuse - with the payroll they carry, the team should have plenty of depth to weather injuries.
Randall Flagg Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I think I have gone from being in love with Vanek to wanting him off of the team in one season. That $7 million would look lovely in a center slot...

The bills just adapted an identity for the first time in forever and Sabes are in dire need to get one this Summer. And I just paid up for the freaking playoff tix. This team needs subtraction more than addition, too. I should have drank much more tonight. You should have come up to Buffalo and THEN had much more to drink.

He's just the new Tim Connolly that everyone blames every loss on even tho most everyone else played just as bad if not worse than him. This is how I feel as well. There's room for improvement but Stafford is not deserving the enormous amount of hate he's receiving on this board. Since being put back with Ennis he has looked pretty good.

That $7 million would look lovely in a center slot... I am starting to feel the same way about Vanek. I really want to know what is going on with him.

sabresnutinphoenix Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 As our season is nearing an end, maybe we can think positively about this team's future when Darcy will be fired! I hope!!! I think I have gone from being in love with Vanek to wanting him off of the team in one season. That $7 million would look lovely in a center slot... Package Thomas and Roy or Hodgson for a big name Center...

Yep, that makes a ton of sense. <_<

Guest Sloth Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Down by 2 w/ 10 to go. Its not unthinkable people. Buffalo can get it done. Miller is playing the hockey he used to play. As for the Vanek bashing, it is quite apparent the guy is playing injured. Cant slam a guy for that. Buff still has a legit chance.
Robviously Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I think I have gone from being in love with Vanek to wanting him off of the team in one season. That $7 million would look lovely in a center slot... I love the idea that the only thing preventing the Sabres from acquiring a "$7M" star center is cap space. 1. Teams generally don't trade their star centers. 2. Teams generally don't let their star centers hit the free agent market either. Brad Richards was the best on the market last year and he and Vanek are having similar seasons statistically. The second best center last summer? Ville Leino at $6M/year. Are you happy with that? Oh, but this year there must be an awesome star center we can buy right? Take a look: http://www.mynhltraderumors.com/tag/2012-nhl-free-agents/ I actually don't hate Vanek...I'd keep him but the Center spot is such a premium position...Hodgson is a prospect at this point... You're right. Center is a premium position. Which means teams aren't in a hurry to trade theirs or let them hit the free agent market. In general, the way you get good centers is by drafting them (See: Tyler Ennis) or trading for them when they're young and developing (See: Cody Hodgson).
carpandean Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Down by 2 w/ 10 to go. 2-4 (Caps have a game-in-hand), plus we'll lose the tiebreaker, so it's really 3-5.
JJFIVEOH Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Each team is allowed 4 non-emergency recalls. All indications show that Ruff has completely given up on Boyes and for good reason. His playing time barely breaks 10 minutes, he is completely invisible and has nothing to offer this team. We can all bitch about guys who are underperforming like Leino, Hodgson, etc........ but at least you see them out there making plays and trying to do something to help this team. Is there really anything to lose by using a healthy recall to bring somebody in to fill his spot and scratch him for the rest of the season? It really can't hurt. They did it to Torres a couple years back.
qwksndmonster Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 2-4 (Caps have a game-in-hand), plus we'll lose the tiebreaker, so it's really 3-5. I love it when you get all numbery  That was a horribly boring game to watch. The Ennis line was the only watchable line (I have such a crush on Ennis right now). If I didn't get accepted to McGill today, I'd be downright disappointed
