sabre snipe Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 pretty sure nhl.com disabled the comments section for their article on the suspension...it was getting blown up earlier with ppl complaining about shanahan and the nhl saying how ridiculous this suspension is
Saudi Arabia Rob Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Ridiculous. When a Flyer boards a Sabre in the back, nothing happens......
SwampD Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 The thing I find most shocking about this is that NHL actually found someone more inconsistent than Colin Campbell. This is truly baffling. ..and Nfreeman, it's only a conspiracy if it's hidden. This is right out in plain sight.
rickshaw Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 If I didn't love hockey so much,I'd be done with this league. A guy with zero history gets 3??? Chara does this weekly and still has no record. This is a f'ing disgrace. One game tops. Guys do this each night and nothing. And suddenly a team desperate for wins gets shafted like this? I so wish a rival league would start up again and give these clowns running the league a run for its money. Up yours Shanny. You are worse at your job than Colie and that's saying something.
87168 Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 hmmm, that's pretty lame. no use crying over spilled milk I guess. Who will be called up while he serves his suspension?
wonderbread Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 hmmm, that's pretty lame. no use crying over spilled milk I guess. Who will be called up while he serves his suspension? McNabb.
dudacek Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Whut? Not comprehending at all. Can someone show me the other first time offenders who got three games? How is this different than Richards on Connolly last year?
Randall Flagg Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Whut? Not comprehending at all. Can someone show me the other first time offenders who got three games? How is this different than Richards on Connolly last year? Cough cough Flyers cough cough
bunomatic Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Whut? Not comprehending at all. Can someone show me the other first time offenders who got three games? How is this different than Richards on Connolly last year? Its open season in the playoffs.
Jsixspd Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 We need to be e-mailing the NHL and letting 'em have it loud and dirty for this BS. Where are the Bruins' suspensions? Lucic puts Miller on the DL for weeks, hammers the Sabres season, and gets NOTHING??? Tyler Myers has a clean record and gets 3? Shanahan is ball-less, clue-less, you name it!
OverPowerYou Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Call me crazy and flame away at me, but I think this suspension is good for Myers... This is a growing point and this will teach him how to be physical game in and game out while figuring out how to be aggressive at the right times.

qwksndmonster Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 it's no secret that the nhl would much rather see the capitals in the playoffs. definitely suspendible, but 3 games for a player with no history is a joke I never heard that secret. You're crazy. I know. When Gomez is the target it's always the right time to be aggressive ;)
Marvelo Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 It was an awkward hit. I don't think there was an intent to injure. There's no history with Myers, ... Right in the middle of a playoff race, you can chalk the three games up to league politics.

Right in the middle of a playoff race, you can chalk the three games up to league politics. Petty ###### politics. In the past, Shanahan has clearly said intent plays into these suspensions - and Myers didn't look like he was trying to injure the guy. It's absolute B.S.
darksabre Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Hate to say I called it but...I called it. I don't agree with it though. It's as if there are no guidelines to direct Shanahan's decision making. He just looks at it and goes "You get this many!". No consistency.
Eleven Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 How I learned of it, via cell: http://bit.ly/wEmomn Myers suspension video. French version. How I responded: ###### you. English version. I'm pretty sure I'm blocked from penisface's twitter feed or whatever, now.
TheChimp Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 He took out his anger on Gomez. Good choice, but definite intent to put his face through the glass. I think the team will rally behind this and win without Myers. Heck, Hodgson might actually pick this stretch to put it all together.
Jsixspd Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 BTW, here's a link to leave feedback with the NHL. http://www.nhl.com/ice/feedback.htm
Campy Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 it's no secret that the nhl would much rather see the capitals in the playoffs. definitely suspendible, but 3 games for a player with no history is a joke Truly. Because everyone knows Washington DC is a hockey hotbed.... Where in the world are you getting this from? Myers drilled a guy from behind with intent. He had just been hit with a high stick and was PO'd and took it on a defenseless guy. My dislike for Gomez is no excuse to justify that type of play. Myers earned the suspension, My only gripe is that more guys don't get a similar punishment for doing a similar act.

But that's the problem, this hit happens probably every game and gets supplemental discipline in about .00001% of the cases. Malkin didn't even get a call from Shanahan, and I think his hit was significantly worse than what Myers did, and at least as bad. That's what makes the league a joke, and opens it up to conspiracy theories.

Myers didn't even get a game misconduct and he is out 3 games on his first offense? We have seen three Sabres get injured in the last 9 months on this very play with nothing. F### Shamahan.
biodork Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Un-fcuking real. Three games would have been appropriate for a repeat offender, not a first time guy with the added height issue. Yeah he was pissed and looked for the hit, but that happens 10x every game and intent to hit does not equal intent to injure. Shanahan is a joke.
