TrueBlueGED Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 WGR says it was basically a stiff neck that kept him from playing Saturday, and that it feels a lot better now. I don't think playing tonight is going to cause any set backs. Ah I missed that, thought it was his shoulder. In that case, suck it up and play!
Samson's Flow Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Anyone want to speculate on the line combos now that Vanek is back in? I was glad to see Hodgson and Ennis as the top two centers last game. It was a lot more fun to watch and lets Roy do whatever the F### he wants on the third line. Here's my brainstorm: Vanek - Hodgson - Pommers Leino - Ennis - Stafford Gerbe - Roy - Kaleta Foligno - McC - Tropp I hope I didn't forget anyone... Edit: Maybe chz can let us know who was practicing with whom in the morning skate

Sekera now diagnosed with pneumonia and getting worse. Ellis with knee injury; wouldn't say season-ending That's no joke. I know a guy from my sons school, late 30's and a marathon runner who is currently in the hospital with pneumonia. They don't know if he'll make it or not.

TrueBlueGED Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Your SabreSpace namesake: Boyes--- unfortunately, Foligno might be the odd man out, eh? McCormick isn't ready to play, so Foligno is still in. Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville Leino-Ennis-Stafford Gerbe-Roy-Kaleta Foligno-Boyes-Tropp That's my guess anyway.
freester Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 I'm ready for Hodgson to put some points on the board.

I had a co-worker a couple years back who ended up in a coma as a result of pneumonia. It was bad enough that there were a couple days where we were just waiting for word that he'd passed away. He pulled through but lost hearing in one of his ears. Pneumonia is scary ######. Get well soon, Reggie.

Samson's Flow Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Your SabreSpace namesake: Boyes--- unfortunately, Foligno might be the odd man out, eh? d'oh. Although I was all but ready for him to be shipped out at the trading deadline until he hurt his wrist. I guess I still think he was a goner even if he wasnt traded... McCormick isn't ready to play, so Foligno is still in. Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville Leino-Ennis-Stafford Gerbe-Roy-Kaleta Foligno-Boyes-Tropp That's my guess anyway. So then it would be Boyes at #4 center over a still hobbled McC
TrueBlueGED Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 What did gerbe and Kaleta ever do to deserve that? Well I certainly don't want Foligno and Tropp to get stuck with Roy, they may retire at age 20.
qwksndmonster Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Bummed out to hear that Sekera got worse. I hope we see him back on the ice soon. La Canadiens at home. I'm expecting a big win (and an acceptance letter from McGill any day now). What did gerbe and Kaleta ever do to deserve that? Maybe they'll beat him up? Fingers crossed...
FogBat Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Tonight Montreal is a first place team playing their best hockey. Thats how the Sabres should go into this game. We're ripe for a stinker so hopefully the boys bring it. After watching the habs kick Vancouver saturday night the sabres better not underestimate this squad. If they have the mindset that this is a bad team they are playing when in reality thats how they themselves should be labelled then they will lose this game. That being said tonight I have faith. GO SABRES ! That's a scary thought. They would be stupid to underestimate a bunch of bottom-feeders. Alas, it's been known to happen.
nfreeman Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 La Canadiens at home. I'm expecting a big win (and an acceptance letter from McGill any day now). Good luck! I think that would be a great place to go to school.
LastPommerFan Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Hmmmm..... Why does this scare the living bejezus out of me? Kinda what I was thinking too. We have a good way of elevating, or should I say dropping, our level of play to bad teams. That's a scary thought. They would be stupid to underestimate a bunch of bottom-feeders. Alas, it's been known to happen. I don't want them to underestimate them, I want them to play like they are playing the worst team in the conference. I want them to step on their throats earlier and not let up until the Scoreboard reads: BUFFALO 6 MONTREAL 0 PERIOD 3 TIME 00:00

Sekera now diagnosed with pneumonia and getting worse. Ellis with knee injury; wouldn't say season-ending Oh yikes, Reg... I hope he gets well soon! Sulzer is going to see a lot more time than he (or we) probably thought when he was traded. Good thing he's been up to the task so far. That's no joke. Pneumonia certainly can not be taken lightly, I almost died from pneumonia when I was a toddler, of course medicine has come a long way since the 60's, still I hope everything goes good for Reggie and he's back on the ice soon. CV, I hope your friend pulls through all right.
qwksndmonster Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 snip :P  I've never seen that before. And thanks, freeman. La Canadiens have gone 1-2-1 against the Sabres this year. At the end of the season, playoffs or no, this needs to be 1-4-1.
ROCBuffalo Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 I think Ennis deserves to be on the top line, he has really stepped up and is scoring as well while Coho isn't producing. Bottom line is we need to stop turning the puck over in our blue line. Needs to end asap if we have any chance at the playoffs.
R_Dudley Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 In the Montreal Gazette today" Canadiens can spoil Sabres' playoff run " to which i say, "Oh non, vous n'avez pas gâcher notre parti pâtisserie vous manger les parisiens " have another crossant and get outta here. Let's keep it interesting for a while longer please, "Go Buff-a-lo".

North Buffalo Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 So ESPN labeled Ennis, "The Phantom Ennis" I like that! TSN will hold a live blog on their website for tonight's game: http://www.tsn.ca/community/feature/?id=45352
Guest Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 Je déteste Montréal. Ces habitants du sous-sol peut aller se faire foutre!
Wyldnwoody44 Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 I was chatting with a guy from Montreal at the airport the other day, he sounded like us 3 weeks ago on the board, with his team being a bottomfeeder and all. He told me he thought it was great that we kept our coach for so long, he was saying that everyone changes and it never gets them anywhere. I think that's the first time in the past few years I heard a compliment regarding ruffs tenure. Its obvious that every game is BIG from here on out. Were technically 5 back from a playoff spot, the injury/sickness bug seems to be creeping back as well, but that's absolutely no excuse, I want buffalo to jump on the habs so early that the staff goes outside and warms up the teams moose before the 3rd starts

I feel like the only people who are still huge fans of Ruff as a coach live outside of Buffalo. It's an easy thing for national broadcasters to latch onto because they don't follow the team. And since he's been here forever, he must be an awesome coach right?
