The real question is why are hopes so high for a player many didn't really know anything about before the trade deadline? We are talking about a player that will have a first season that resembles Drew Stafford. Look how that turned out.

Thats the problem, Darcy is always looking (hoping for the future) what about NOW??????

It seems like we are never entering their zone with more than 2 players, why is it taking so long for the forwards to catch up to the play ?

For "now"? The only positive is that he plays center which they needed. If they were looking for an immediate offensive impact they really missed the mark.

I think we were taking our cues from Canucks fans who were upset to see him go. He was putting up good numbers in Vancouver with very little ice time.

He gets the benefit of the doubt for now. He's had the worst travel schedule of anyone in hockey since the trade deadline and maybe one practice with his new team. Realistically, I'm not sure how much he could do.

Just got home - saw the 3 on 1 opportunity evaporate when Pommers' stick broke. Where the hell are the Sabres getting their equipment? Out of a cracker-jack box? C'mon!

It was painful to watch, only way it could have been worse is by having one of the stick shards go right into one of Pommers eyes.
