Stormin Norman Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Living in Massachusetts and going to the game tomorrow. The win tonight really helped my going-in mood. I have a home Tyler Myers jersey and a Miller Team USA jersey. Which one would you wear if you were going to TD Garden? The Myers jersey will attract more Boston derelicts whereas the USA jersey might keep people more civil. I am going with a Boston fan from work who'll be wearing a nice Bobby Orr jersey. What to do?

They may give you a hard time that Tim Thomas should have been the USA goalie if not for injury. If I were crazy stupid like a wicked Bruins fan that's what I'd say. I'd go with Blue and Gold.

Probably a g-string and pasties... oh, and chaps... definitely add some chaps. (Myers jersey is the gutsier move)
billsrcursed Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 There's no civility with Boston fans.... either way you're going to get it, as you probably should. Embrace it and enjoy the game, and wear the jersey you care least for (in case of projectiles).
Drunkard Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I think you should go with the classy route and wear a white t-shirt that says F all you Boston Massholes on it in Magic Marker. On the back you should write Tom Brady can tell the flavor of a Popsicle just by sitting on it (and Tedy Bruschi taught him how to do it!). P.S. - Ceramic knife can pass through metal detectors in case any of those beantown shitheads get uppity with you. Cheers!
Guest Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I went to a game a few years ago at TD Garden and wore my Sabres jersey and the only person that gave me any crap was the mascot in the in the corridor. He dropped his gloves at came at me. I stood my ground and said bring it on!! I never had any problems with the fans there, but this was also when they sucked. I'm sure now that they are the defending champs the fans are total douchebags, just like the Pats and Red Sox fans have been since they became competitive. But if you really want to piss them fair weathered fans off go buy a Kaleta jersey and wear that proudly. Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Wear a Bills Bledsoe jersey. They will be too confused to know what to do with you. I think you are inviting more problems with the Miller USA jersey. Miller is the face of the franchise and the Lucic incident will introduce the word P###y into the conversation, That's just me.
Captain Caveman Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Dude no jersey. Bare chested, except for the blue and gold paint.
LastPommerFan Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Dude no jersey. Bare chested, except for the blue and gold paint. I got thrown out of TD Garden (back when it was the Fleet Center) for doing exactly this with Orange and Blue during a Knicks Celtics game. I wasn't even drinking, :(

Wait, metal detector? I went to a game in Philly and I don't remember one there. Could Boston be worse than Philly fans?
shrader Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Wait, metal detector? I went to a game in Philly and I don't remember one there. Could Boston be worse than Philly fans? They don't use them here. Maybe a quick pat down of your pockets, but that's about it.
IKnowPhysics Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 They don't use them here. Maybe a quick pat down of your pockets, but that's about it. Not like the Staples Center, where metal detectors are in full force but Kings fans couldn't give ###### one about the presence of other fans.
Drunkard Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Wait, metal detector? I went to a game in Philly and I don't remember one there. Could Boston be worse than Philly fans? I have no idea if they use them or not, I was adding that in to cover all bases. I've never been to Boston and that's not an oversight or an accident since I have no desire to go to the land of arrogant douchebags who couldn't pronounce the letter R if their lives depended on it. Every single person from that area (that I've ever met at least) has been nothing but an insufferable pompous jackass that should die of ass cancer or have their face dipped into a wood chipper.

As you well know Drunkard they have metal detectors here in Raleigh, and they didn't show up after a certain 2006 playoff series either. They've always had them and I'm not sure why.

Although I've been to the F'N Center a couple years ago back when it was still HSBC and I don't believe they had them but too many beers have been drank between then and now for me to remember for sure.

There is no way they could have them at FNC with everyone entering at one place. It would be a nightmare. It's a nightmare at RBC when they actually have a sell out once in a blue moon.
LastPommerFan Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Don't need them at FNC, The Aggression has been coached out of everyone
Stormin Norman Posted March 8, 2012 Author Report Posted March 8, 2012 Quick Update: Decided to go with the Myers jersey. Not sure why other than the Miller USA jersey seems a little irrelevant for tonight. Will also have my New Era Sabres hat. Section 22, 14 rows from the glass. I am going to the game with a co-worker who is a big Bruins-Pats-Red Sox-Celtics fan. So I thought it proper to take him to The Harp, a sports bar near the TD Garden which is home to the "Bills Backers of Boston." The group often gets together for Sabres games... and they're doing so tonight. I look forward to seeing this Boston fan in a Bobby Orr jersey surrounded by Blue and Gold (all for fun, of course) after the game!

Guest Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Wear a Yankees A-Rod jersey. That will get you some attention. :flirt:

They're still going to be badly outnumbered, even if they're in the basement of the Harp. Your Bruin friend will fit right in.

Its late for this, but go in the Myers jersey, when you get inside punch the first big fat guy you see with a Boston jersey right in the face to let them know you're there, then swagger to your seat like a man. Spit on the floor and look around at everyone like, "What're you gonna do about it?"
shrader Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Hey Shrader ! I think this guy is talking to you ! :P Someone needs a few more drinks, I think. I don't want to be sticking up for Boston at all, but all of that coming from a guy who is suggesting sneaking a knife into a hockey game... yeah, I'm not so sure it holds much weight.
