That was a great game to watch. I wasn't aware that C.B.C. employed regional homers for west coast games. I guess Kevin Weeks comes by it honestly in that he is a former Canuck but his constant love for the Vancouver team was nauseating.

Wow, missed the last 15 min or so but awesome that they pulled it out and so glad Ennis scored. These guys are finally finding ways to win instead of ways to lose!

At some point Hodgson's nice setups are going to be rewarded with points.

Yep, he definitely has skills with the puck handling, and his placement on the ice - I am really happy we added him.

Amazing what a little confidence can do for ya.

Give Kassian a lot of credit. Someone said he was a -2 after the first. He played a very good game from that point on. He's got skills and it looks like he's gonna get a chance to get more minutes on the second line at least. Good for the kid.

I never saw 6 points at this juncture of the road trip.

Regehr needs to get back and settle down the blue line but The Plop Plop Fizz Fizz did ok in his debut.

And way to go Ryan Miller. One helluva run. Let's start another.

GO SABRES!!!

KASSIAN FIRST STAR- why did it seem like he was almost being "campaigned" by HNIC as the next superstar that was given away by Buffalo?

I thought either Booth or Leino could have taken the 1st star but they are still trying to justify the trade in Vancouver to a somewhat unhappy fanbase. That being said both Kassian and Grags had pretty good games.

Well they also named him 2nd or 3rd star the other day when his stat line only read 5 hits

I thought after the first Kassian was a non-factor except for his goal in the third.

Agreed. He barely had any ice time. I think he was only at 7 minutes or so after the 2nd period ended. Finished the game with about 10.

More stats: Pommer -3, Roy -2, Vanek -1. So you got your wish, they made an appearance! That line needs to be broken up, it just doesn't work.

Didn't think about this until just now, Vanek was 100% invisible (as well as his whole lime)

That line is just bad. I genuinely think it's only a matter of time before Hodgson centers it, or the flip Vanek to RW to have him play with Ennis and Hodgson. RVP does not function in anything close to a positive fashion.

I think Cody is gonna get some shifts with Pommer and Vanek next game. Really no other way to do it since Leino and Cody's line are working good. Only thing I can think Lindy could do is flip Boyes and Roy

I think Vanek would be better with Boyes as center because he'd touch the puck more. He needs to be either with a passer to set him up, or a practically invisible center so the puck is on his stick more.

And his whole lemon, too. No citrus at all tonight.

I am still satisfied with the trade. That said, there is a relaxation and comfort in Kassian's game that brings the energy. He looks more effective.

One game, nothing sustained, body of work, etc. But, he did look good ... first star good, no. But good. Congrats to him. I hope he gets a deep cup run.

But to do that you would need to flip Stafford to LW and put him with Roy and Pommer

What a win, I didn't expect this outcome at all. I still can't commit to getting my play off hopes up, the disappointment of falling just short would hurt more than being a few points out, but there getting there. Great game by the Leino line, they applied a lot of pressure, as did the Hodgson line, but that's becoming a given. I thought Sulzer had a good debut as a Sabre, I would of liked to see Hodgson score against his old team, but still his line had another good game. Miller again was on top of his game, I noticed the last couple of games that there's this little celebration thing that he and Ennis do, Ennis is the last one to congratulate him after wins.
